This particular stat is a double edged sword. On one hand yeah you can throw it in a tight window, but on the other hand it tells you the quarterback isn't making the right read, and hitting the open receiver.
I like to see how Manning, or Brady fair in the stat.
This isn’t necessarily true about any QB.
Just because it is a “tight window throw” doesn’t mean it isn’t the right read. And this could be for a variety of reasons.
1. Everyone else might be covered just as much.
2. With certain receivers and routes, a “tight window” is still considered open by NFL standards. For instance, if Witten has body position on a smaller defend who is right behind him, that’s still open. The defender is within 1 yard but we all know Witten can “box him out” to give the QB a spot to throw the ball.
3. A lot depends on the situation. There are times where it’s more appropriate to throw into tight windows based on the game situation. There are other times during games when it isn’t appropriate to throw anything risky.
