This particular stat is a double edged sword. On one hand yeah you can throw it in a tight window, but on the other hand it tells you the quarterback isn't making the right read, and hitting the open receiver.

I like to see how Manning, or Brady fair in the stat.

This isn’t necessarily true about any QB.

Just because it is a “tight window throw” doesn’t mean it isn’t the right read. And this could be for a variety of reasons.

1. Everyone else might be covered just as much.
2. With certain receivers and routes, a “tight window” is still considered open by NFL standards. For instance, if Witten has body position on a smaller defend who is right behind him, that’s still open. The defender is within 1 yard but we all know Witten can “box him out” to give the QB a spot to throw the ball.

3. A lot depends on the situation. There are times where it’s more appropriate to throw into tight windows based on the game situation. There are other times during games when it isn’t appropriate to throw anything risky.

some people can see the evidence on the field and still say "nope, dont see it. in order for that to happen the other defense has to suck"

That's the issue. When I watch other teams play, I'm floored how open the receivers are. According to the video I posted, Goff doesn't get to throw much into tight windows. Probably because his receivers are wide open.

This offense doesn't help the receivers much. When you watch the Saints, all of their receivers usually are couple of yards away from nearest defender.

Exactly, I don't think it is our receivers but the scheme JG employs. The video talked about the creativity of the Eagles scheme getting their receivers open.

Walsh, Landry and the like were innovators of the game and the results proved them out. JG is a 3rd grader competing against Phd's out there.

The problem is Dak never throws into “tight windows” flawed stat. I have no confidence in Dak going into this game and neither do most of you. Look at the predictions. If Dak was really any good we’d be picking the Cowboys.
Do you have a stat to back up?

Some of us are picking the Cowboys to win, cause we do have the better QB

Eww...This thing with Dez needs to get figured out, and soon. Dez is a great player. Dak is a great player. Skill sets don’t appear to match. Maybe they just aren’t meant to be great together.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure Dez is great anymore. I'm honestly not sure if he is or isn't. I also don't feel we use him right, either, so that plays a part. We should be adjusting how we use him, but doesn't seem like we are.

That stat on 3rd down for Beasley is shocking. I would think it would be way higher.
That's one of the big differences in the passing game this year. Defenses are taking away Beasley and Witten on 3rd down, and taking their chances with the other receivers. Which leads to the other big difference, which is that Bryant's targets are much less successful this year, on any down.

Prescott's passer rating
3rd down
Williams 104.8
Bryant 70.5
Witten 67.6
Beasley 42.4

other downs
Witten 125.2
Beasley 112.2
Williams 78.9
Bryant 75.2

totals
Witten 112.5
Beasley 94.6
Williams 86.0
Bryant 74.1

So you're that type Huh? Accept any numbers that validate your opinion and throw out any stat that goes against your opinion. Sad.

Is it really sad? Or is it sad that your one of those that accepts stats without context..

Like those that said Roy Williams was playing well as a safety his last few years here because of some stats..

Rediculous. Dak does not play LT or defense.

Too bad wittens runs routes one yard short of the first down marker every time and cant get a single yard after catch to save his life.

It’s no secret the better running game helped the passing game tremendously. You can see Dak is forcing things too much. He’s in a real bad way right now. Seeing him miss that easy 2 point conversion just shows how much he’s struggling...
