Help me out here...

Chicago at Washington...

this one looks like it could be winnable for the Skins... I don't know... But, if Chicago whoops the Skins' it will be a helluva long year for Joe Gibbs...

Arizona at NY Giants...

Arizona could actually win this one, but NYG can play some tough ball at home... can Eli pull out of his Freshman slump and avoid DE Berry, well see.

Philadelphia at Atlanta (MNF)

I hope Vick and company pull this one out... We'll see how the Falcons defense does against McNabb and TO... Defense will be key for both clubs in this game.

Dallas at San Diego

I'm such a homer... Dallas hopefully has 4 sacks (Ware 2, Spears 1, Roy W. 1), 2 ints (Newman, Davis)... and 24 points on offense... JJo (128 rushing yds)

I can literally see this record

NYG 1-0
Dal 1-0
Phi 0-1
Was 0-1

:skins: :jints: :iggles:

Phil 1-0
NYG 1-0
Wash 1-0

WAS-0-1 Chiago still hasa decent enough D to stop protis(Urlacher), and i think there running game, will wear down a lost WAShington D

I doubt the Giants will win. Eli hasn't practiced in weeks, he just returned to practice yesterday or today. Couple that with an aggressive Cards D and I think Eli will be in for a long afternoon.

I think we'll steamroll SD. We win by better than 2 TDs. We'll harrass Brees, who's going to feel naked without his security blanket. I figure we get 3 turnovers in the game and make Brees look more like the guy who had a 67 QB rating two seasons ago, and not the guy who had a 104 rating last year.

Skins should beat Chicago. We all remember how great Chi's run D is, so I expect Portis to have a monster day.

Eagles should beat Atlanta. I think Vick is the most overrated player in the NFL and he'll be confused and corralled by the Eagles D. McNabb and Owens might not like each other, but they know how to work together just fine. Eagles win big IMO.

Cowboys 1 - 0
Eagles 1 - 0
Skins 1 - 0
Giants 0 - 1

A player who has lead his team to a divsion chamiopnship, twoplayoff apperances, in the two full seasons he started is overrated. Wow i didnt know every QB had to be like Peyton Manning to be consdierd good.

He's a terrific athlete. He's an amazing runner. He's an average to below average passer. His D had a tiny bit to do with his playoff run last year, didn't it? Just a smidge? Vick is easily, clearly, and beyond a shadow of a doubt the most overrated player in the NFL. If he gets any more air time without actually completing more than 55% of his passes he might become the most overrated player in the history of the NFL. You can thank ESPN,s Sportscenter for it, because Vick makes for some great highlights. Unfortunately they don't show too many of the lame passes or poor decisions that happen between those spectacular looking runs.

I think the giants/Cards matchup is the most interesting. Both teams have been picked by some to do really well and others to not be so great. We'll see where both programs are right away. Will the cards be legit this year? Will the giants be legit this year? I think the Cards defense is better and their QB more mature so I'm giving it to the Cards.
I think Atlanta will look discombobulated this game while I'm guessing the igglets steamroll them. The igglets know how to play team ball no matter which 11 players are out there. But I will sure root like heck for the most overrated player of all time, Mexico.
I think chicago's QB loses this one for them. Wash D plays well and they win like 17-13.
Dal vs SD: I think we'll look sloppy in this one and it'll be tough going being on the road. I'm not very scared of Brees without Gates and against our secondary, I'm worried that we will mostly contain LT but our offense has a tough time putting up enough points to win. Cortez will miss an important FG, book it.

He can run.....that's it. He's the best athlete in football, but he isnt even a top 10 QB.

Vick passed for a whopping 2300 yards last year, ran for 900 and lost another 270 in sacks (which conveniently enough don't count against his 'rushing' total). So Vick managed a net 2919 yards in 15 games. He had a combined total of 17 TDs (14 passing and 3 rushing) and 12 turnovers - but a LOT of that was blind luck. Because he fumbled the ball 16 times without ever losing one last year. How many times will that happen?

Vick is overrated, he's a truly mediocre QB who happens to run really fast. He also tends to get hurt because of his playing style. Anyone who doesn't think he's overrated shouldn't be on this board, you should be watching Sportscenter to catch up on the latest hype.

One injury means he "tends to get hurt?"

Say what you will about Vick's passing abilities, I myself think he's an awful passer, but as an overall quarterback, you can't question his ability. All you have to do is take a look at the Falcon's record with him under center and their record with him on the sideline.

That's what they said last year

Yep and he looked imprvoedfrom the season begging, really it was a first year offense, and remeber he took only 24 snaps in preseason, say what you want about protection, that hurts a player, you saw how much he played this preseason.

That just means he's considerably better than his backup.

Be that as it may, the difference between their total team defense, their running game, and their overall record is huge. He may not deserve the hype as a top 5 QB, but he's a very good QB, and without him, Atlanta goes from a SB contender to a sub .500 team.
