NFC seeding looks right

The whole NFCE is finishing up playing each other. I guess the schedulers figured we all needed some time to get our teams fully operational before the nut cuttin games should start.
I posted about this last week and a responder said all of the divisions were like this but none of them are as division intensive as the East.

It set up really well for them to create interest in what was thought to be the worst division in the NFL before the season began.

Arizona 10-2
Green Bay 9-3
Tampa Bay 9-3
Dallas 8-4
Los Angeles 8-4
Washington 6-6
San Francisco 6-6
Philadelphia 6-7

That would be my power ranking at this time with a toss up with GB playing TB and DAL playing LAR and WFT playing SF.

The East is the only division with so many division games to close out the season. The others have a couple but the East is going to get really interesting with 4 division games for DAL, WFT and PHL.

DAL can make it a little less interesting by beating the WFT and going 3 up with 4 to play, beat the NYG the next week and make it a total win out for the WFT and total lose out for DAL in order for DAL to lose the division.

This game in D.C. is shaping up to be the scene setter for the final stretch because they and DAL control their own destiny, win out and win the division for WFT and DAL has an easier path but if they lose in D.C. that path gets a little more treacherous with AZ, PHL and WFT still to come.

It is highly likely DAL will have to go on the road if they win that first playoff game at home. If they cannot take care of WFT in this next game, that does not bode well for a team needing to be a road warrior to get to the Big Dance.

If DAL is to make any noise in the playoffs, they must win this game in D.C. against a team playing their hated rival and on a 4 game win streak. This game is going to have a playoff atmosphere with those fans and that team believes in their QB.

We've debated if this team is ready to take the next step and that gets answered this Sunday.
What we have now is basically the NFCE playoffs, with Dallas having a two-game advantage. I think that's huge. The WFT plays Dallas and Philly twice. This is where the war of attrition chews up teams as they scratch and claw their way to the NFC playoffs. We are getting back Gregory and Gallimore at just the right time. The WFT can less afford a loss now so if Dallas can get the win it will mean more to them achieving their goals. I love this time of year. We find out who wants it more.

Oh ok, I guess I read it the wrong way on that first line after your list.
I can see that, I could have been clearer about that. This is really going to be an interesting playoffs with so many teams evenly matched in both conferences.

Raiders game crushed us.
Not yet, they can still get this ship righted and nothing like playing division games and the #1 rated team in the league to get ready for the playoffs.

At least I will know. If they don't show up in D.C,, this was all just an illusion of a contender. This is exactly the kind of game that separates the contenders from the pretenders. Throw in the rivalry on top of that and it just doesn't get any better than this.

No way do the Cowboys belong ahead of the Rams in any power ranking. They'd destroy Dallas right now.

I suppose a 9-8 or 10-7 WC finish would still be considered progress from last years 6-10 disappointment.
Think about this, 4 us to have won even 6 games last year was an amazing HC job. We were terrible. The line was gawd awful, the dline even worse. the db's...even worse. on and on. The mere fact that MM found a way 2 get us 6 wins was damned amazing. If memory serves, we were in the playoff hunt with 2 weeks left in the year 2020. With the historically awful defense we had, and we won 6 games...lol...I have to laugh. Grateful we have the team we have in 2021. They are refreshing to the eyes. Like him or hate him, we might want to think about MM and DQ as Coach of the year candidates. Quinn was run out of ATL on a rail and he revived his mojo here. MM has redeemed himself and he isn't done yet. I think this is a team of destiny, coaches included. THE DQ factor is huge. Gives us an element of unpredictability we haven't had since the Tuna was here defensively. We aint going 13-4. Cards will beat us.10-7 r 11-6 is very realistic.

Until Dak figures out how to orchestrate the offense like he did before his calf injury my confidence is not going to be there.

Right now we are desperate for a run game.

The defense should be going to another level starting this week.

CC, it all comes down to our Oline.

If our Oline finally decides to show up and block well, that would help get our running game going, thus better help our passing attack to open up and carve out the WFT defense.

We know our D is going to perform better with Randy Gregory and Neville Gallimore back, enabling our starting Dline to play together for the first time all season. That will greatly benefit our LBs and DBs.

The key to beating the WFT is our Oline. This team will go according to how our Oline plays. Period.
like every year as is football and such, it boils down to the oline. We will go how the oline goes. I said that before the season and I am sticking 2 it. I agree^^^ line is key. BTW...we better have all the guys back 2 contain 24 and not get beat on the ground.

It could all come crumbling down if we lose to Wash. This could be the greatest collapse in Cowboys history without losing our starting QB. And we could be regulated to fighting for WC slot.

OMG this game Sunday in Washington is so huge. Of course if we win will go up 3 games with 4 to go all but sealing the division and at least the 4th seed.

But CC, this game Sunday is full of all the drama a fan forum could hope for .
Which is PERFECT for TV rating$!

I been consistently stating that I think we finish 10-7. I think thats about right. Yes, that would be good progress. Even when we went on a win streak, I said it. I knew we would kinda hit a valley. Its a long season. I think were about to hit another mini win streak. If we win say the next 2, that will be 3 in a row. Then I think we win the division. We will begin 2 rest starters after that. I hate that actually, but I see it that way.

always thought 10-7 at worse and 11-6 at best

still we are going to be a 4th seed no matter what unless a miracle happened. We had far too many injuries' at key positions to hold up and the raider game was stolen from us..so not big deal win division get in the payoffs and handle it there..We should be pretty healthy starting this week and hopefully no setbacks and might peak health wise right at the which bodes well for run..

Need some luck to take the long run to the sb but hey its happened many years..

A playoff atmosphere at Noon. I actually like it that it’s at that time on the East coast. Doesn’t give the fans enough time to lube up. We are getting guys back and they are losing guys. Thomas and the stud DE are gone.

Gibson is going to be a problem as well as the DT’s throwing our Center and Guard around.

I can see us trying to pound Zeke inside when he can barely move…..smh.

I'm not worried at all.
Either this team is better or it's not.
No more sneaking into the playoffs.
Our task is before us. Beat the WFT TWICE.
We have the team. We have the offense. We have the defense. We have the special teams.
This team is supposed to be different.
NOW GO DO IT!
My base line is already "same ole, same ole."
I'm ready to be proven wrong. But if we squander our lead in the division, I'm already conditioned for the results.
So I'm good either way.
Not worried at all.

Probably so. The NFL is a cash cow regardless. The TV viewership , revenue has never really been a concern or focus of mine. The league continues to increase and have record revenue seems like whatever happens. Pandemic is perhaps only thing that ever slowed it when fans couldn’t attend.

Man, I don't see it as THAT huge.
We have a two-game lead, not one.

Now if we lose this week and both teams hold serve until the next meeting, then THAT would be a huge game....

Either way, I'm excited about the game.
Well, if you can’t see the drama this will bring if we lose only remaining one game up with another head to head upcoming then your cup must be fuller than most.
