NFC seeding looks right

I’m guessing this is a broadcast fans on East coast won’t get if not in Wash market?

If the offense lays another egg and we lose to the skins..this team doesn't belong in the playoffs...this is the ultimate test for dak and co.

A playoff atmosphere at Noon. I actually like it that it’s at that time on the East coast. Doesn’t give the fans enough time to lube up. We are getting guys back and they are losing guys. Thomas and the stud DE are gone.

Gibson is going to be a problem as well as the DT’s throwing our Center and Guard around.

I can see us trying to pound Zeke inside when he can barely move…..smh.
We need 2 use TP even more. When he see's a crease, he hits it fast. Zeke is beat down and slow. He needs rest. Lastly, this game will be a great time 2 get a 3rd rb into the game plan...I'm talking about Clement. We can use him like TP. He's a SB winning rb with nice quicks. We need 2 use him this week.

well said. Time we prove who we are once and for all.

Here's a little something to think about. Lose this game Sunday and it is probable that DAL goes to PHL in a win and in situation or an elimination game. You like that? Me neither, I've seen that movie before and everybody dies in the end.

There was a time that I was OK with DAL needing a little help to get in but no more.

This game Sunday is a playoff game to me. DAL wins and I feel pretty good about their chances in the playoffs to reach the NFCCG but lose and I am not sure they even belong in the playoffs. They have an extra 3 days to prepare, no excuses, a true contender wins this game.

It's December and no excuses allowed from here on out...none.

It could all come crumbling down if we lose to Wash. This could be the greatest collapse in Cowboys history without losing our starting QB. And we could be regulated to fighting for WC slot.

OMG this game Sunday in Washington is so huge. Of course if we win will go up 3 games with 4 to go all but sealing the division and at least the 4th seed.

But CC, this game Sunday is full of all the drama a fan forum could hope for .

It wouldn't be good, but realistically we still have a one game lead, play the Giants and then the Skins again.

I'd bet my mortgage we are winning this division. There will be no collapse.

The real question is will we have our crap together in time to make a legitimate run at advancing.

Cowboys need to pick up the pace but one advantage they do have currently is they have the best conference record in the NFC at 6-1. Outside of the Tampa game all other loses came from AFC which has no bearing on any tie breaker situations.

I agree. I think we will still win division. But the point I was making is that could all come crashing down.

And after starting 6-1 with higher hopes than just winning division it could be argued it’s already crashed or at least derailed.

Im not sure many will be pleased with just winning division and another early exit in playoffs. At least not those who bought into the hype.

I agree but would also say most teams hit periods within a season where they are not playing great. Cowboys helped themselves by coming out of NO with a win and now have that extra time. Being 6-1 in the NFC gives Cowboys a chance to move up in the seeding and even #1 seed is not out of the question as of yet

Yes sir, anything less than an NFC Championship appearance I will have a difficult time calling progress.

We've definitely hit a rough patch, but considering the health of the roster there is at least reason to think a return to form is possible.

No matter what happens Sunday Dallas will go to bed in first place. They'll play the same team in three weeks, under better circumstances, at home with a team that's basically done in between.

I suppose a 9-8 or 10-7 WC finish would still be considered progress from last years 6-10 disappointment.
Ok....again.....McCarthy wasn't brought here to rebuild a disaster of a roster.

He can't come in and lower his own bar to 6-10.

Anything less than where Garrett took us is NOT progress.

This isn't some extremely young team with many promising years ahead.

In fact due to cap issues this may be the best team we have for some time. We are going to start losing players off this roster.

If we finish 4th, that'll put us against the Rams in the 1st round. The Rams are much better than the 6 and 7 seeds. Whoever finishes 4th is gonna have a tough out in the 1st round. The other two division winners should have a fairly early path to the 2nd round.

Here's how the 1st round would go if the season finished today:

2. Packers vs 7. 49ers
3. Bucs vs 6. Red Skins
4. Cowboys vs 5. Rams

Arizona 10-2
Green Bay 9-3
Tampa Bay 9-3
Dallas 8-4
Los Angeles 8-4
Washington 6-6
San Francisco 6-6
Philadelphia 6-7

That would be my power ranking at this time with a toss up with GB playing TB and DAL playing LAR and WFT playing SF.

The East is the only division with so many division games to close out the season. The others have a couple but the East is going to get really interesting with 4 division games for DAL, WFT and PHL.

DAL can make it a little less interesting by beating the WFT and going 3 up with 4 to play, beat the NYG the next week and make it a total win out for the WFT and total lose out for DAL in order for DAL to lose the division.

This game in D.C. is shaping up to be the scene setter for the final stretch because they and DAL control their own destiny, win out and win the division for WFT and DAL has an easier path but if they lose in D.C. that path gets a little more treacherous with AZ, PHL and WFT still to come.

It is highly likely DAL will have to go on the road if they win that first playoff game at home. If they cannot take care of WFT in this next game, that does not bode well for a team needing to be a road warrior to get to the Big Dance.

If DAL is to make any noise in the playoffs, they must win this game in D.C. against a team playing their hated rival and on a 4 game win streak. This game is going to have a playoff atmosphere with those fans and that team believes in their QB.

We've debated if this team is ready to take the next step and that gets answered this Sunday.
Of the top 4 teams in the NFC (other than Dallas) the Cowboys may have the best chance of beating the Cardinals.
