Should have been 2 years ago. We know what happened last year.
What? It's literally the most important aspect of winning.
It is just a misused term. A lot more goes into winning games than pure talent. There is coaching, how that talent is used and works together. Lots of teams are "talented". The Eagles Dream Team was "talented". Did not matter at the end of the day.
Talent trumps all of those things. Talent alone won't win, but none of those matter without talent. In terms of winning I would say there's a few that come before talent.
1. Execution
2. Physical endurance/stamina
3. Mental discipline
4. Chemistry
5. Talent
10) Dallas Cowboys
Blue chips: Tony Romo, QB; Dez Bryant, WR;Jason Witten, TE; Travis Frederick, C; Zack Martin, OG; Tyron Smith, OT; Sean Lee, LB;Orlando Scandrick, CB; Dan Bailey, K.
Risers: DeMarcus Lawrence, DE; La'el Collins, OG.
Despite the Cowboys' 4-12 record in 2015, they should rebound nicely with the top players back on the field. Romo and Bryant fuel a dangerous aerial attack that perfectly complements a rugged running game -- one that could truly explode with dynamic rookieEzekiel Elliott as the RB1. The Cowboys' star-studded offensive line is a force to be reckoned with: Smith, Martin and Frederick move bodies off the line of scrimmage on run plays and form an impenetrable wall on passes. On defense, Scandrick's return from injury -- he missed the entire 2015 campaign after tearing up his knee in training camp -- gives the unit an ultra-athletic CB1 to shadow the elite receivers in the NFC East. If he and Lee can stay healthy, the Cowboys' defense might exceed expectations.

I just thought on this Tuesday morning we can all take some time to marvel at our amazing talent.
Go Cowboys, bros.

I would argue that with a younger Romo & Witten we would be top 5.
Why isn't such a talented roster competing in championship games?
The Vikings as top 5 surprised me...
Sleeper of the draft - the WR they picked from Germany.
The talent level on this team is constantly overrated.
Not in a case like this one. We've got a lot of decent players. Where we've struggled is in players ~15-53. People see the stars, and they see the team swinging for the fences on high profile players and they see us play well when everybody's in the lineup and we look pretty good. It's when somebody has to step up where we run into problems. And I'm not just talking about Tony and Dez being out last season.
This is where trading up for picks instead of down and where taking long shots in injured players and wildcatting in general bites us in the Snyder all the time.

I don't disagree. But you can't rattle off 5 or 6 names and then say your team is talented. That's what this guy does in the article.
If your roster depth is poor, and in the Cowboys case it definitely is, then you are not a talented team. What you are is a team with below average talent with a few talented guys at the top.
That's where we are.
