Only way they think about it is if he falls in their lap which won't happen unless he has a terrible workout.

Jerry should have listened to me and let Romo play out his deal. At the very least he'd be looking at a significant discount right now considering his back issue.
Jerry would have still paid him. Just the way he rolls.

the team only gets 60 interviews, they are not wasting this interview for publicity reasons, cmon now.

they legitimately like manziel. the ONLY thing preventing us from drafting him IMO is romo's contract.

I think the fact that we are picking 16 might also prevent us from drafting him.

We would basically have to package our whole draft to move up into the top 5 to draft him and we cant afford to give up all those picks, we have way too many holes to fill.

This is one of the reasons fans talk about losing games for draft picks if it looks like the team is not really a contender. A lot easier to trade up into the top 5 if you are sitting at 10 or 11 compared to 16.

Yeah but the issue is explaining away Romo's massive contract only 1 year into the deal. That would be a colossal turd for Jerry to shine.

Jerry should have listened to me and let Romo play out his deal. At the very least he'd be looking at a significant discount right now considering his back issue.

I think the back injury would be enough to validate the Manziel pick, I agree that he should have let Romo play out his contract because I think last off season that the back was an issue far more serious than anyone let on.

The thing is, if you can draft a franchise qb what is he worth? Is he worth a your 3 top picks? If you take any of our top 3 picks from our last 4 drafts would you trade them for Luck?

If you really think that JFootball gets you over the hump then the price is going to be high but it might be worth it.

as much as i respect his game as a college qb....i grew up an aggie fan.

it all ends with the respect i have for him as a person..

Oh? You know him personally? Or his your hatred spawned by all the illegal activities he hasn't committed? Nothing funnier than internet moral champions, especially those that are blindly led by the *******ized images designed by BSPN.

Why would you want manziel when you get bortles or bridgewater if people thinks that it will change this team that much. Just wondering

Manziels dream is to play as a cowboy. No way it happens but it's still nice to interview him to make him think he has a shot at it

Romo will be the starting QB for the Cowboys several more years. Spending what it would take to get JF would be a ginormous waste of resources we need to use on other areas of the team. JMO but you are putting far too much emphasis on Romo's recent back injury. It's not like he will be trying to play out of a wheelchair.

That is the rub though...................is the player worth it.

Is RG3 worth all those picks (including the second overall pick this year)?

Agree we need more than JF. But Romo will try to play one or two more years. After two back surgeries its ginna be tough. Watch and see...

There isn't a sure thing in this draft, Andrew was the last one at QB. It would be unwise to give up too much for one of these QB's, especially being Garrett's do or die season.

Once the 2014 season comes to a wind and if we miss the playoffs again, Romo gets hurt or is too restricted, then go all in for Jameis Winston in 2015 with a whole new coaching staff to evolve with.

2015 is the season to truly rebuild if needed, not this upcoming one IMO.

If Manziel falls to 15, I'm waiting at the table with his card in hand. It probably won't happen, but Rodgers fell to 24.

If he comes back from his injury and picks up where he left of his rookie year then maybe but we won't know for awhile, we won't know about Luck for awhile either.

Take a guy like Phillip Rivers or Ben R, I think if you would've made a blockbuster trade for them then it was worth it. The qb doesn't have to be Payton Manning or Brady for it to be worth it, but a top 10 qb.

that sounds like conspiracy theory mumbo jumbo.... that guys interpretation of JG calling Romo's back surgery as an injury is just speculation at best

The not throwing the ball deep all year kinda give it credence imo, I guess the only thing that makes sense is if the Cowboys wanted Romo to be more conservative with the ball.

We have so many needs, so many holes the only positions frowned pun being drafted are LT, C, and CB. Of course no TE should be on our draft board but we know since we are very diligent about that position that it won't happen. QB is a need, if a legit guy falls to us we need to grab him.
