NFL.com most impressive rookie - Antoine Cason?

NFL.com poll has Antoine Cason as one of the options for most impressive rookie for his six tackles. Why is he on the list? He only had a lot of tackles, because he had to keep tackling Miles Austin after getting repeatedly beaten.

I wouldn't say he was "beaten" repeatedly. That's a pretty negative connotation. He had tight coverage at all times. Austin's just a big boy that used very nice body movement to grab the ball. Probably wouldn't have mattered who was covering him last night.

That said, I definitely wouldn't put his in the top 3 most impressive rookies from that game, much less the entire NFL.

He probably is at or near the top of this year's rookie crop, but playing against the Cowboys leads to exposure and accolades. If some other rookie outshone him this weekend, we won't hear about it.

I guess it depends how you define beaten. If you make five 5 yard catches, but they all are either third downs converted for first downs or touchdowns, then you were thoroughly beaten.

More proof that official NFL statistics are a joke. The stats they provide for CBs don't even come close to telling the story of how the player performed.

I'll take our corners having that kind of night... everytime he threw it to Austin Cason was draped all over him, made me very nervous. When he's that close and facing the right direction he's going to make alot of plays.
