Well, I guess we'll get some comp picks in 2009 for Reeves and J Jones the way this is looking (assuming we don't sign anyone in FA).

Ok I'm not familiar enough with this, I guess, cause I don't see how we get comp picks when UFA's sign with someone else. Could someone explain this to me please.

Julius Jones' contract is for four years and $12 million.
It will be interesting to see the upfront money in the deal. While Jones did fairly well, the Seahawks still are likely paying Jones and T.J. Duckett less money than Shaun Alexander is due. Seattle is less likely to take a first-round back now, but they still have flexibility.

Kind of a bummer. Saw it coming I guess, but still sucks. JJ's rookie year he was the bright spot of the team for me personally, the player I liked watching the most. Too bad he didn't pan out the way he started.

Heres to hoping we get someone comparable and keep the two-RB system going w/ Barber.

Shooting fish in a barrel.

You gotta love the "we haven't made a big splash in Free Agency so we're doomed" crowd. They must really admire the success of the Commanders with this policy.

Oh wait...

The idea that the Front Office has done nothing is based on a total lack of any grasp on how this game is handled.

If you sign the young players you currently have, then you don't need to replace them in the draft.

Right. We're going to sign Barber and Canty so we don't need to replace them in the Draft. The Front Office are doing an absolutely great job so far. Good point.

Knowing our luck he'll probable go there and run for 1,500 this year.

Holmgren needs to get his linemen some extra pads for their backsides to protect them when Julius inevitably plows into them.

ME too, although I knew this was coming at the beginning of the season last year...I bought mine the 2nd game of the year I attended his 2nd year.I almost bought a Barber this year, but went with the safer pick of a Romo jersey.

Now HERE is something funny....

Dallas Morning News writer Tim McMahon predicts Julius Jones will rush for 1,700 yards as a Seahawk in 2008.
Jones has professed his love for Qwest Field's "fast track" and has averaged 155 yards per game in Seattle. Before we get carried away, Jones has to stay injury-free, hold off Maurice Morris on 3rd downs and T.J. Duckett in short yardage, and hope Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Stewart don't fall to 25th in April's draft.

In a sense, I'm sorry to see him go, but there's only so much teeth grinding I can take from the ol' earth magnet. I wish him the best, but not against us.

I hope he does. I really like JJ and wish him well. Unfortunately for him, Barber is a better fit for the Cowboys.
