NFL fans accuse Troy Aikman of anti-Chiefs bias

My observation about fans getting mad at Aikman or any announcer - it usually means your favorite team is losing, and the announcers are accurately praising the other team for playing better than the team who is losing.

That’s usually where fans of the losing team get mad, lol.

(Side note: I think Troy is the best former player announcer. He is straightforward and clear…and prepared)
I've resembled that comment, on occasion.

I'm like...okay that was a great play but go easy dude!

Then I wait for my team to make a play...and they'll do the same thing. I'm like "DANG RIGHT DUDES ..... FACE!!!!!!"

A penalty or bad call that happens in the first half for example, is not an excuse when a team loses. There is plenty of time to overcome that mistake. And often, complaints about a ref call, ignore numerous other things that happen the game, including refs calls that go their way. Every team is dealing with the same bad refs. But a complaint about a penalty called or not called, when there are mistakes made by the players that equally affect the game is ridiculous to me. Why is a penalty called or not called any worse than a player dropping a pass, or a lineman whiffing on a block, or a QB throwing an errant pass? How can you ignore all those things and only single out 1 ref's call? There are 120 offensive plays run in a game and the refs making one call is the only thing that matters?
A play in the first half counts as much as a play in the 4th quarter. Points dont count double in the 4th quarter.

Players should decide the games. Officials are there to ensure that. A player throwing an errant pass or dropping the ball is vastly different than officials make glaring mistakes. They prevent players from deciding the game. Not rocket science. I'm not suggesting the officials care which team wins and are making calls for a team that go "their way".

Troy used to try his very best not to sound biased when it came to the Cowboys.....to the point where it seemed like he couldn't stand them. He doesn't do that anymore, and he finally found his niche in calling a fair game. Plus, the last several years, he hasn't held back criticizing Jerry, and I believe this is why fans like him!! :muttley:

Troys guilty of alot of things concerning his bias, but this one is not it. Just because he's not making excuses for the chiefs playing up and down doesn't mean he's got an ax to grind.

Fans crying about stuff like this is annoying. Who care if Buck and Aikman hate KC. Maybe they were just rooting for the underdog Jags which is common. The crying about the refs is getting old too. Any mistake the refs make in a game is not the reason a team loses, unless that mistakes is the very last play of the game.

I don't know how many of you are on X, but if you are then you probably witnessed the Eagles fans, I mean lots of them, complaining and crying over refs calls, even posting videos showing the play and the refs were right! It was insane what they were claiming were bad calls. I got the impression Eagles fans never watched football before that game because the stuff they claimed was bad officiating was all rule book 101 stuff.

But I think Chiefs fans are just miffed that they lost 3 games already, and honestly, they do not look like a Championship team this year, for whatever reasons - refs or no refs.
I have a Score app to see whatever boxscore on whatever game or sport.

Theres a chat feature in the app. I swear every single game and sport is littered with people saying "rigged." Its gotten really stale.

Chiefs are about to be 2-4 with the Lions up next.

Not really true. 3 or 4 bad calls or non calls can affect the game as well. The OPI not called allowing a KC TD. That changed a lot of how the Jaguars had to respond. The non DPI not called, allowing the KC INT, then them getting a TD.
14 points right there directly due to the refs.

Oh Gawd go after Collingsworth for being a huge Cowboys hater and slobbering on every opponent we face.

And then half the thread follows suit, lol. Nostradamus, is that you?
I certainly wished I had the power to see into the future before March 29, 1994. :)

Wait.

On second thought, I am happy I do not have that ability. :(

Yep. You can tell which way the refs are "cheating" by who the poster wants to win (or lose). Monitor this thread for confirmation! Lol.

100%. For years many Cowboys fans criticized Aikman as a fan of any team playing the Cowboys. Probably based on him saying anything positive about the other team. Even when it’s true.
I think it was more than just saying anything positive about another team.

Some of the ex-players in the boof, sometimes go a bit overboard in praising any team playing their ex-team in an attempt to show theirs no home-team bias.

Troy may have certainly done this from time to time to prove his autonomy from the Cowboys organization.

This is hilarious.

First, it’s the daily mail, which means it’s garbage.

Beyond that, quoting message board ranting as representative of “NFL Fans …” is a bit much.

Imagine if the Daily Mail posted one of Rockports tirades against fake fans or MCs mockery of homers as a “sports story”.

Aikman and Buck seem to be better on MNF as opposed to FOX.
Maybe it is a maturity level. Maybe they feel more relaxed for some reason.
