I wonder if Jim would give up all the fame and wealth he's enjoyed if he had to do it over again.
Good question!,, if it was you, would you? I don't think he would,, hell, he might have ended up an alcoholic 3x's divorced used car dealer or something similar, if you pulled that lever on the " way back machine " Silver and took the other path where it forks it's all in that conspiracy theory/ religion casing-liner ,,,neither can be proven nor dispelled.
Time travel can be a mind ****.:lmao:

dallas dave--- Do you think maybe Daks great year last year was a fluke?....i know most things one looks to makes it not appear as luck......but i just have this nagging feeling and maybe its from listening to Stephen Smith....we are an accident waiting to happen....when i saw how the Cardinals methodically worked out defense down for two TD's...i said oh man...yes we tightened up after that and yes we even won game....i have a bad feeling when we dumped out backfield this year and drafted their replacements that we may have bit off way more than we can chew?....if we can stay within a game of first place by game 10 of the season then we can pull it out?....i am just being negative nancy..i will shut up

NO DAK IS THE REAL DEAL . I THINK DAK IS GOING TO BE A GREAT QB !! Now that's not to say he won't hit a few speed bumps in the road. Just rem when he hits the speed bumps, don't throw him under the bus. Everybody has bad days and bad games, just have to stay the course. Go DAK !!! Go COWBOYS !!!!

Because most 69-year-olds, of course, run around every day in perfect health with nary and ache or pain or lack of energy.

Please. Football isn't the only reason you're not feeling tip-top, Plunkett. YOU'RE OLD.

I get so sick and tired of hearing this older guys complain about what the game did to them. They made that choice. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that grown men, hitting you on an every day basis is going to leave a mark. If I was in charge of the NFL, I would just tell them to suck it up and move on. The NFL does not owe these guys anything.

And whose fault is this? We all choose our careers. Bottom line, everyone's body at the age of 69 will have crippling pain at some point or another. Some already at a very younger age. Especially a child laying in a hospital with a brain tumor and the parents can't afford the medical bills. Stop your complaining Plunkett. Deal with it. Again, an NFL player uses the NFL platform to sob about his personal life/feelings. Stop playing golf if your in so much pain!
DuaneMartinJimPlunkett.jpg

Jim Plunkett, a former Super Bowl MVP, is the latest former NFL player to detail a life of crippling pain and misery. “My life sucks,” Plunkett told the San Jose Mercury News. “It’s no fun being in this body right now. Everything hurts.” Now 69, Plunkett led the Raiders to two Super Bowls after a storied career at Stanford, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1970.

The report said Plunkett has endured 18 operations and lives with artificial knees, an artificial shoulder and debilitating pain in his surgically repaired back.
Plunkett played 15 seasons in the NFL and estimates he suffered at least 10 concussions from the time he started playing football. He's also dealing with headaches, possibly related to Bell’s Palsy which he contracted a year ago, the Mercury News said.

After watching so many former teammates and contemporaries suffer and die young, Plunkett says it's time for the NFL “to help take care of these people.”

I'm sorry. I guess I'm missing the problem here?

Are we whining because Plunkett is whining?
Or are we disputing the effects of him playing in the NFL?

Very few I know his age have had back surgeries, knees replaced, shoulder, etc.
18 surgeries is not the norm.

If you don't like his whining is one thing but to dispute or deny his pain isn't more NFL related than natural cause is either ignorant or biased towards him in someway .

Apparently you don't have a child with cancer to even make such a hideous ignorant remark. That said, welcome to my ignore list. It's full of ignorant members as yourself.

Where did we can come up with a comparison with Plunketts ills and a child with cancer? Did He say he wasn't concerned about some child?

I'm certainly not getting the resentment towards these players feeling the pain from their careers?
