Russell Wilson just gets the job done.

People look for just about every reason possible to discredit him but he just gets the job done.

He does more than just get the job done in my opinion. Alex Smith is a guy that just gets the job done. Wilson makes plays. He has a 6.5% TD percentage. That is pretty darn good. He averages 7.10 adjusted net yards per attempt, which is also very good.

Green Bay's D is so bad it is hard to tell how good Wilson is tonight. Kind of like trying to figure out how good Drew Brees was against us last year. :(

You keep bringing up Spencer. I am not comparing him to Spencer or the moves Dallas made with Spencer. I'm talking about money and long term deals. They could not have gotten Bennett on the cheap on other than a one year deal. They could have done that last year like Seattle. So what? It would have still cost them money to keep him for the long term. Maybe he is worth it and should have been the move Dallas made. It just isn't a cheap one and that is exactly what was insinuated.

Isn't this kind of what we did with Melton? We get him on the cheap this year but if he pans out his salary jumps the next three years?

Avril - 2 years $11M guaranteed. Yr 1 cap $3.75M , Yr 2 Cap hit $9.25M - 7.25M if cut
Bennett - 1 year $4.8M. Yr 2 - new deal 4 years $28M - $16M gauranateed

2013 Cap hit for Spencer = $10.6M all guaranteed. 2014 - $2M

Seattle had 2 players to chose from to sign to long term deals after the 2013 season. Dallas spent more to role with 1 player...tagging him the second year in a row.

Seattle - 2 players cap hit in 2013 $7.55 - Both 27 years old. Dallas 1 player $10.6M salary cap..

Wilson got away with a pretty lucky first half then played well in the second.

This game really changed after that failed 4th and 5 in the 3rd qtr. The Packers panicked and that is where the momentum of the game really swung for the Seahawks.

And none of that is minimal. It cost money. That is the only point to which I was referring. It probably would have been the better move. I'm okay with that, but there is nothing minimal about it.

I agree. He has been hit quite a bit the last few seasons. Maybe that has built up some distrust in the line protecting him especially when he loses one to injury during the game.

The Packers invested heavily in book-end offensive tackles taking Bulaga and Sherrod in the 1st round of the 2010 and 2011 drafts and it has back-fired terribly -- both have been missed most of the last two years due to injury.

Interesting thing is neither had any real injury history in college. It's a great example of how NFL injuries can impact teams -- it's hard to recover from when that type of investment doesn't work out.

It's like buying a new car and its always in the shop being repaired and you're driving your brother's 59 station wagon until then. And there are no lemon laws.
