i agree DC, greg ellis should keep his mouth shut up; and play, and help the young guys

If greg would only realize that with spencer coming on, it would make his job easier, and big obvious passing downs, greg would come in all nice and fresh and help out, get some big time sacks, etc

which would only make our defensive line and linebacker rushers more fiercesome, possibly even have our defense # 1 defense in the league like in 92, when we had tolbert, j jones, russell maryland, leon lett, jim jeffcoat and charles haley,

with the terry glenn situation, glenn got 5,820,000 last year, for only 4 catches i do believe, so a compromise should be worked out, since glenn realizes that his playing days are close to being over, and glenn wants a superbowl win, so compromise, meet each other half way;

I will get third in line with opinions on Ellis and Glenn.

BTW, has anyone told Greg he is a terrible negotiator?

The crying wolf is old already!

Beyond old. Hopefully the rest of the team will not allow this to be a distraction. Personally, I don't know if Ellis needs the OTAs. And I know Spencer and the new guys do. I wouldn't worry. He'll be here when he has to. Best just ignore his inferiority complex.

..to this Greg Ellis BS.

Let Ellis and his agent go out and field trade offers from other teams in the league and if Dallas finds an acceptable one..he can leave.

I just think this team is in a critical time in it's preparation for this season and this lack of leadership from Ellis is just gone far enough.

If what this reporter says is true, about Bradie James and Spencer and others looking up to Greg Ellis, this is totally the wrong player to be allowing to be in the lockeroom and controling or influencing other players with his Crazy Ivan mood swings.

I knew and every one of us knew it was only going to be a matter of time with all these big contracts being handed out to MBIII and Flo and TNew that Ellis was going to blow up with some money issue disquised as something else.

It was all about money last year, but he tried to make it sound like it was about this injury and not being ready to play but then we found out it was because he wanted a $500,000 raise in order to play and a guarrantee on his contract with an insurance policy.

Now this year, the argument is being said to be his concern about other players taking away his snaps in an OTA for goodness sakes.

It's not about that. It's about everybody getting these new deals and he's still waiting to get his.

So he's going to start the hystronics again but we all know it's not about playing time, it's about money again.

Let's just see what some other teams will pay him and give up for him. Let's see what other team is going to pay him more than Dallas is going to.

I think the team needs to stop all this drama with Ellis and just say, "Greg, if you don't think you are being treated fairly, go find a team and let's see if we can work out a deal that will let you go there."

I think Ellis will find out that the rest of the league isn't going to treat him any differently than Dallas is now doing and that he's got it just fine in Dallas and that his trying to point out that Dallas is somehow under-paying him and short-changing him is either the truth or it's not and if not, he needs to shut up and just play.

I think it's gone far enough and an endgame is in order.

Call his bluff and let's see just how valuable he is to other teams. If some team makes him and Dallas a legitamate offer and Dallas wants to match it, then do that and Ellis will get the deal and stay or say "Mr. Ellis..you were right, goodluck in whereever.." and take the trade.

Either way, this fingerpointing at Jerry Jones and the Cowboys as trying to indicate they are holding him hostage or as some sort of slave to his deal needs to be ended. Ferguson and Ayodele were just shown the door this off season. Ellis could be next if he takes this too far.

I think he's going to be very surprised..very surprised about what his real value is around the NFL.. And it won't be a good surprise, either.

Few teams are going to take a chance on a aging guy that has frankly had an injury history for a good deal of his career, has a history of being disputive to team chemistry and plays on a team that has virtually created a position for him in 3-4 defense because he can't play any other position on the team otherwise and caters to limiting his snaps in order for him to be effective.

Few teams are going to want to deal with all that. Much less give him some expensive new deal to take him from Dallas.

Think it thru, Ellis. I'm sorry, but I'll say it again.

I think the guy is bi-polar and needs some medical help. If not that, he needs some sort of mental help because he's just making no sense anymore.

No sense. And it's getting to the point of feeling sorry for him that he's got this obvious problem that everybody sees but he doesn't.

It's sad. This 'world is against me' routine if very different from the player who came to this team in place of us drafting Randy Moss and always striving to prove he belonged and that he was the better selection.

Now he just goes around telling everybody he's not wanted. Which clearly isn't the case. And he's outliving his welcome on the team with his actions.

Stay tuned.

TG's split contract offer is awful low. I know he got paid a lot last year to sit and rehab but $500k is way below the vet minimum for a guy with his years in the league. I would think $850k (half his scheduled $1.7M) would be a much more fair offer.

Negotiation and compromise are two of Jerry Jones' strengths. The lowball offer may be just to keep TG off the practice field until mini camp.

Ellis IS valuable on the field. Last year showed that, for him, being at OTAs is not necessary for him to be ready when the games arrive. Let him be a drama queen. The team and players know all about his "poor me" quirks. It won't be a distraction.

If people would pay no more attention than they do, this puff of smoke would evaporate.
