When asked who could be this season's Matt Leinart, as a guy who is a great player who could slide throuhg no fault of his own, he said if Cleveland doesn't take Peterson at #3 then he could fall all the way to #10. Tampa Bay wont take him at #4, they have Cadillac. Arizona invested a lot of money in Edge. Minnesota has money invested in Chester Taylor. He see's Peterson falling all the way to #10 to Houston, and Houston putting that pick up for auction to the highest bidder.

Wow factor.

I'm not buying it myself.

I think he's Cleveland-bound. If not, Minny could definitely take him as the name Chester Taylor strikes fear in no one. Houston would be wise to take him if they got that lucky.

I can see AD falling to Houston, in fact, I have him doing that exact thing in my mock draft :) except for I think Houston takes him, they can't afford to pass on 2 very good runners twice in back-to-back years

Peterson would be a horrible fit in Brad Childress' WCO offense. The prototype for his offense is Brian Westbrook. And if you think Chester Taylor is chump change, a guy who finished 9th in the NFL in total yards last year, I'd hate to see what you think of Julius Jones (31st). Plus, Minnesota had to outbid several teams for him and signed him to a pretty big contract for a RB.

What will make things even more interesting is if Buffalo drops out of the RB sweepstakes if they trade for Michael Turner. That would leave us, Green Bay and Tennessee and really the only teams actively looking for RB's and those teams can't afford to give up draft picks. The Titans might only be minimally interested anyway since they spend a 2nd rounder on LenDale White.

I'd love to somehow get Peterson here. If the team would deal Julius, they could conceivably do it without giving up too many picks. At least, they could get a first day pick back anyway.

I'm really hoping the Weiss/Crenell connection gets Cleveland to take Quinn or Oakland goes with Calvin #1 and Cleveland takes Jamarcus. He falls to 10 and we give our 1st/2nd/3rd whatever to get to 10. Then trade Julius after the draft for a 2nd/3rd rounder next year and keep building for our future. Something like that happening would make my day.

We're actively looking for a RB? This is news to me.

Minny's not a good fit, but if I'm AZ, I take him and don't look back. Edge isn't a long-term solution there, no matter what they're paying him.

Nobody criticized NO for taking Bush when they already had Deuce.

I see your point, but I think Deuce's salary is significantly lower then what Edge received. Not only that, but Deuce is injury prone so they weren't putting the whole load on his shoulders. In the end, the BPA was drafted by NO and Payton knew that he could use a player like Bush in many different ways and not just lining up behind the qb. So, it's a different scenario in terms of comparing Bush and Peterson. I don't see Arizona even thinking of taking Peterson w/Edge on board and decent backups already signed. They will spend their money elsewhere which would make sense.

Is Arizona really that willing to keep on with Edge? The guy just does not do it - I know part of the reason is the O line- but he is getting up there in age for a RB. I think there is a decent chance they take Peterson if he falls to them.

Deuce was also just coming back from major knee surgeory.

I think Peterson falling to #10 is wishful thinking. I hope it happens, but I just don't see it happening.

I can see him falling that far. Only problem with that scenario is, though, that Houston would just take him. They need a RB badly and they'd LOVE to market the homestate hero, especially after they whiffed so badly on the Vince Young Experience.
