not sure if this question was posed to the board already but I heard over the summer and saw a great deal of publicity the past few days re: the NFL Network's coverage of footbal on turkey day.

Does anyone have insight on what exactly this means or what we should expect in the way of where our game will be broadcasted?

Does this mean exclusive game coverage of games on the NFL Network?

Will national TV still show the games?

Kinda of nervous......my 78 grandma, who's hosting the holiday, decided she wasn't getting enough value for her dollar from the NFL Network and discontinued her subscroption!!?? :D

Any informed feedback is much appreciated.

The Cowboys and Lions both will have their game on national TV coverage. There will now be a 3rd Thanksgiving Day game that night on NFL Network. So Cowboys 3:15 game is not affected

I can't imagine the NFL would be stupid enough to ONLY show games on NFL Network. NFL Network doesn't have anywhere near enough viewer penetration.

It's a game over $$$ the NFL's playing with a few specific major cable companies.

They're hoping that enough Denver, KC and NFL fans in general will pressure their cable provider to carry the network when there's a chance they won't see their team play.

Fox played the same game with Nascar/FX. That worked but Nascar fans are more loyal to the sport in general. Their driver is in the event every week so they're missing something. Other than the hardcore NFL fan, who is really going to care about Denver/KC on a holiday evening?

Oh, they are going to do it.

5 Thursday night games and 3 Sat night games

Schedule is on the front page!

It does not hurt the NFL at all. They still get their revenue from the networks who still have games to show and they get a bit more from their televised games. Now , they probably could get more from showing them on ESPN or NBC but that is the chance they are taking to get the NFL network available to everyone.
