The way we played why are we so pumped up to make to the playoffs to go in and lay a goose egg again?

My gut would say we have the tie breaker in that senario and the NFL network is wrong simply because they never mentions Chicago having to win both games. So they are probably wrong. I am just trying to examine every possibility...... and i think i probably have.....hahaha:laugh2:

Chicago has ZERO chance to make the playoffs unless they win their division, we have the tie breaker over them if we beat Philly. They need Minny to lose both games in order to get in.

Just cheer for Atlanta and Tampa to lose, that is all you need.

Bottom Line: Atlanta or Tampa MUST LOSE TOMMOROW.

That sets up a "win and we are in" scenario.

Of course, after watching tonight's game I am not sure we can beat the Eagles so this all may be for nothing rooting against Atlanta and Tampa tommorow. May not matter if we lose at Philly.

I was just thinking the same thing, what if Atlanta or Tampa lose tommorow and we go to Philly and get beat with a playoff ticket already punched for us???

I worry the problem with the 3 way tie breaker is that since head to head is thrown out since we have not played both the bears and the bucs it would go to the next senario which is conference record. That eliminates the bears. However, i dont think it resets to head to head. I think it then goes to common opponent if they have a min of 4. Then strength of victory.

I think it might come down to strength of victory and i have no idea what that means.

It makes me nervous that the NFL network just repeated it again as i am typing that we need the bucs to lose both.

Once third Team is eliminated, it reverts back to two team scenario.

Its incorrect. There is a thread on this already..... All we need is TB to lose to either San Diego this week(or Oak next week), or ATL to lose to Minny this week(or the rams next week), and we have to beat PHI next week and we are in.....as the 5th or 6th seed

Basically Chicago is out unless they win their division.

We NEED either Atlanta or the Bucs to lose tomorrow. If they both win, our playoff chances are practically over. Because the Bucs play Oakland and the Falcons play the Rams in Week 17.

I agree that we don't deserve to make the Playoffs BUT being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys we can do nothing more than cheer and root for us to make the Playoffs. You are right, this current collection of players on the Cowboys are not able to man up after getting punched in the mouth. Still, getting into the playoffs means a new season, new chances, new opprotunities. Again, this team doesn't do well with new chances or opprotunities as has been shown all season long, but nevertheless, we just want to CHANCE.

A loss by the Bucs OR Falcons today gives us ONE LAST CHANCE to control our own destiny by beating Phily (my most hated rival) to get into the NEW season (playoffs). Although it doesn't look good if we get in, at least we have a chance and as a fan, that's all we can hope for. You never know, if we win a playoff game and then get creamed in the next round AT LEAST we would've got the Playoff losing monkey off of our backs and by the way this season has gone, that would be a MAJOR sucess with this team this year... GO COWBOYS!!!
