Players probably wouldn't be elegible to play until next week. But there has to be an agreement before anything is passed. I saw that big IF word in there so anything could delay this.

Nope, they would be immediately released from suspension. You can't take a guy's check away if the policy has changed and he's no longer in violation.

With an official NFL game starting in like 3 hours, could they still be eligible to this weeks game?

Technically, yes, but I don't think they're voting until tonight. You could see Welker, Scandrick, and others released from suspension. I think their are 20 players that have a chance to be.

Now all they have to do is pass Durant's Captainship status to him and our D just got even better...

I know Claiborne is a liability but I hope Carr can step his game up. We need another good corner outside of Scandrick. We also need a weakside LB. Maybe we can use one of the young guys on the roster. Maybe we need to look at some veterans. I think the D-line will work itself out. They won't be very good but we have some guys playing alright and we have a lot of guys coming back soon. My main concerns are another solid CB outside of Scandrick and a WLB. Also, Wilcox is kind of useless. I like Heath's athletic ability. I'm hoping he can improve. He was thrown into the lion's den as a rookie.

The point is that unless no Steelers or Ravens are impacted, it seems unlikely that they will reinstate players from the other 30 teams in time for their games this weekend while it was too late for the teams playing tonight.

I can't think of any players on either team that are suspended tonight. I agree with the sentiment though, with a game already played at the time of the vote, they may vote for reinstatement till after week 2. I don't know if there is a policy in place or if this is something decided as part of what they're voting on though. I guess its something that could be bargained.

I'm guessing this process will take at least 2 more weeks to get voted on and finalized. So basically any players that got more than 4 week suspensions will get reinstated early. That's just the way it tends to work for us.

It probably depends on the contract change agreed upon...

Jason La Canfora is usually a pretty reliable source. He doesn't just toss things out there, for flash value. Tonight should have some metal in it, as there have been a few group meetings over the net, before this one.

They can't get Sunday's game back if they change the rules and lift the suspensions. It doesn't make much sense to reduce the penalty against them and then say they are lifting the suspension AFTER the game.
