Of course they want him to. It's not in their interest to rock the boat on this contract.
Jerry is majorly p'd with the treatment of Zeke...and other stuff we've heard whiffs of.

But what do we expect guys? Jerry's never been worried about taking the league on with various lawsuits over the years...but will he back down?

Jerry trying to save the league from obvious things that are bad for the NFL and it's image but the other owners still want Goodell.

I don't get it.

There will be a lockout in the next CBA if Goodell keeps the power he has abused.

Penalize the Cowboys for disagreeing with a decision? If this isn't fake news then I think it gives legs to anti Cowboys bias from the league. Quite honestly, I think Jerry has really been a team player, letting things go like the fine/loss of cap room arising from unwritten penalties in the uncapped year. I never though Jerry would let that go,

Jerry has every right to not like the ruling. He also has every right to voice an objection to Goodell's contract extension, and pretty much everything else he has an opinion on. If true this really sheds a whole new validity to all of the conspiracy theories.

I think it's extremely in the owners interest to rock the boat on this contract and remove Goodell. I think he is costing them a lot of money.

Nothing like billionaires bumping chests together to keep the news going. The way I see it, this is a no lose for us Cowboys fans. Either Jerry is emasculated, fulfilling our wildest dreams or Goodell and the stupid owners are. We can just sit back and watch!

Roger Goodell, or any commissioner, has no business making more money than the highest paid player in the league. And in Roger's case, he has no business being signed to another contract. He's made a mess and should step down.

“the league certainly has incredible challenges in terms of where we are with the league," Stephen Jones said during an interview with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "Whether that's our ratings, whether that's our concern with our sponsors, I think we need to be focusing on our business and not necessarily on contract extensions.”

How this point alone isn’t enough for wealthy business people to put this on hold is concerning. How they can look at the landscape of the NFL and think all is well is beyond me.

Why are these particular owners so rabid about keeping Goodell? The only non-conspiracy type thing I can think about is that they think he can still fleece the NFLPA on the next CBA agreement and the chaos now is worth it. But is that really enough when Goodell is causing such massive backlash against the league right now?

My conspiracy leaning mind is close to going full Bigfoot and Aliens on this, lol.

At least to me, the most logical reason to entertain giving Goodell such a massive salary extension is because Goodell is providing something in return to the power owners pushing this.
Some level of corruption is involved in this. Maybe it's not outright rigging the system so these teams have an unfair advantage over other teams in terms of wins/losses ( certainly the other non-power owners wouldn't let this happen would they? Or are they okay with it as long as the $$$$ flow to them? ) or maybe it's just a power play to see which owners get to influence the future of the NFL. Awful big egos involved.

I seriously doubt I can ever get back to the all in fan I once was even if the NFL wakes up and sees how much damage they are doing with this, but they need to try and stop the hemorrhaging at least.

Let them do it. The league is imploding anyway. It'll only be faster if they get rid of their only product that sells. CTE is gonna put an end to it soon anyway. Might as well go out on a high note. Play Zeke anyway, win the Super Bowl, then forfeit the team.

Blank, the chairman of the six-member committee, terminated Jones as a non-voting, ad-hoc seventh member Saturday because of Jones' threat to sue the league.
No wonder Jones is so pissed.

Corruption and/or egos most likely answer.

Goodell wants $50 million/yr, private jet when he leaves the NFL and health insurance for a lifetime for his family. I am shocked he doesn't want an island. Hey Roger, with that kind of money, you can buy those things.

If the owners are reading this, give me a call. I will do the job for a mere one million dollars a year and I will pay for my own expenses

Keep fighting Jerry, get that bozo out of there. I apologize in advance if I offended any Bozo fans

Interesting, those commentators were mostly sympathetic to Jerry's case.
