Here is the cowboys pick:
Dallas at Carolina (-5.5)
All I read and see and hear is that Parcells is tired, and that’s he’s desperate, and that he’s more suicidal than Terrell Owens after another Drew Bledose interception, and that he’s totally frustrated and only came back to offset the losses of his divorce. Nonsense. Everyone that’s actually at Valley Ranch, and that reports on the Cowboys has stated that Parcells seems as excited and as energetic as ever. People always think they can tell what’s going on by what they see on the sidelines during the game. How would you look if you saw Drew Bledsoe throw yet another devastating interception inside the 10-yard line? You’d look rested, energetic, and positive right? Yeah, and I’m the freaking cookie monster. Parcells probably should have gone with Romo to start the season, but the Boys are 3-3 and let’s deal with that. Dallas outranks Carolina in lots of categories, and despite Carolina being 4-1 with Steve Smith; they haven’t looked like the team that went to the NFC Championship game last year. Perhaps I’m drinking too much of the Romo kool-aid, but I like what I’ve seen, and this kid seems to be charmed in that impossible to define kind of way. Carolina’s d-line gets tons of hype, but they’ve sacked the QB only one more time than Dallas, and they’ve created only one more turnover. Also? Who’s tied for 4th in total yards given up by being sacked? Jake Delhomme. He’s been sacked one less time than Bledsoe, but for more yards lost. Carolina is also tied for 9th in the NFC in yards per rush, and their defense is ranked 12th in the NFC against the run. I like these stats. I see Dallas totally bouncing back this week, and playing their best game of the year. You heard me. Dallas wins, baby!
ATS: Dallas
Straight Up: Dallas
