It's about time.

I love the way the NFL typically has year around news.

yep - the NFL is brilliant when it comes to marketing and maintaining year-round interest.

Talk about year-round, Did any of you happen to see the proposed "American Idol" type of regional Combines proposal? I guess the NFL wants to make the Combine a weekly competition/destination for marginal players filling the calendar for Feb in to late March, have free agency in April and push the draft to May, leaving only June as an "off" month of football as camps open in July.

Make no mistake, the NFL is going to be a year round monster.

They should do regional combines just to eliminate all these stupid 40 times where some guy runs amazingly faster on his own field.

They should also go around the country allowing try outs in every state. That way all of us keyboard warriors can stop acting like we are better than the players.

Yipee.

I get to see the two games I'll be forced to pay full price to not see in person.

Biggest scam going.

If that's the schedule, I wouldn't even think about putting Romo in if JJ Watt is playing. Hell, maybe not even against Cincy and their DL as well.

No starters will play against Houston. The last preseason game is when most of them sit and the last few roster slots are finalized.

Cincy will be tough. Hopefully we will see how Jonathan Cooper handles Geno Atkins. :D

This team isn't good enough to breeze through the pre-season. Count me down as being in favor of the Bill Parcells approach. Let's get the starters serious time and go into the season ready to go.

They generally start most of the first team although I've seen them hold players out with 'minor' injuries. They play a one or two possessions then sit.

i do not know if i would do that on offense. we want to make sure the oline is somewhat heathly to start the season. the defense if going to have to play a little more to learn the new scheme.

Normally the 2nd to last pre season game is the so called dress rehearsal by the time you hit the last pre season game the starters will see very little time and that week is normally when they are putting in the game plan for the opening game of the season. Last pre season tends to be more about getting players on the bubble one last look before the final cuts are made.

Not in the last preseason game. Since Wade was here, our last game was played by backups/ guys trying to win the last 5 or so spots on the team. Heck, it's been the Stephen McGee bowl the last three years.
