By Richie Whitt in NFL Quarterback Rankings

Like the BCS, style points count. So do geeky, black-and-white stats such as touchdowns and quarterback rating. Wins and losses? Definitely. Leadership? Uh-huh.
When it comes to my weekly NFL Quarterback Rankings - if I had one of those little encircled R's to signify a trademarked idea, it'd go here - the criteria is everything, nothing and all that's in between.

Past performance and future potential is considered, but mostly - like college football's weekly Top 25 - it's an attempt to identify the quarterbacks you'd most like to have starting for your team in this game, this week, right now. Injuries, obviously, significantly plummet value. A clever new TV ad might bump a player a notch.

32. Jason Campbell, Commanders (-).

31. JaMarcus Russell, Raiders (-5).

30. Marc Bulger, Rams (+1).

29. Derek Anderson, Browns (-).

28. Josh Johnson, Buccaneers (+2).

27. Kerry Collins, Titans (+1).

26. Matthew Stafford , Lions (+1).

25. Jake Delhomme, Panthers (-1).

24. Shaun Hill Alex Smith, 49ers (-4).

23. Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills (+1).

22. Matt Cassel, Chiefs (-1).

21. Chad Henne, Dolphins (+1).

20. Mark Sanchez, Jets (+5).

19. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks (-).

18. David Garrard, Jaguars (-).

17. Jay Cutler, Bears (-2).

16. Donovan McNabb, Eagles (-).

15. Matt Ryan, Falcons (-4).

14. Joe Flacco, Ravens (-).

13. Matt Schaub, Texans (+3).

12. Carson Palmer, Bengals (+1).

11. Eli Manning, Giants (-5).

10. Tony Romo, Cowboys (+2).

9. Kyle Orton, Broncos (-).

8. Brett Favre, Vikings (-3).

7. Kurt Warner, Cardinals (+3).

6. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers (+2).

5. Aaron Rodgers, Packers (+2).

4. Phillip Rivers, Chargers (-).

3. Tom Brady, Patriots (-).

2. Drew Brees, Saints (-).

1. Peyton Manning, Colts (-).

What the hell has happened to Marc Bulger? He was a pretty damn QB for a few years. Maybe he just took a few too many hits.

Bulger probably feels like General Custer at Little Big Horn by now.

Is there a link to this site? I love how these ratings sometimes start with players at a certain level (i.e. at one point mid-range according to this) and somehow magically elevate upwards as time goes by.

Dennis Green once famously said , "They are who we thought they were!" Well, if you think a player is such-and-such, why switch gears if you're already parked in neutral?

There is no way Jason Campbell is as bad as Jamarcus Russell, Derek Anderson, Marc Bulger, Jake Delhomme or a few of the others. If you put him in Denver I doubt there's a drop off. I would be willing to bet that the Commanders would have the same record with Kyle Orton as well. He would improve every team below #20 on this list.

That's not a ringing endorsement but he is far from the worst starting QB in the league. That is a bit harsh.

And I can't stand the Commanders...

Kyle Orton has improved dramatically over what he was before this season. Apparently, he improved his arm strength. He is also doing a better job with his decision making. It also helps, that he has a better cast of receivers than he did in Chicago.

Orton and his reputation is the reason I had Dallas with a W for the Denver game. Little did I know he would come into this season as the anti-Orton.

Derek Anderson and Jamarcus Russell have, by far, been the worst QBs this year. It's not even close.

Even though he stinks, Campbells numbers haven't been that bad. Putting him last seems a bit unfair.

He got killed behind crummy offensive lines for years. Now he has a still crummy O-Line and no WR's.
