NFL Rumors on FA

It will be interesting to see what kind of talent is projected near our draft position,,, will there be any top level DE prospects left? Probably not, so FA or trade is the only other option. I suspect there will be good safeties/corners available at our spot.

Speaking of which, who produces your favorite early mock? or are they worthless this early?

And it will never heal. Ever. It's ended his season three times and will continue to do so because it will always be torn and only has to be pushed or pulled to put him on IR. We've got enough cheerleaders.

Seriously.

Just ask the Commanders about their return on investment in tagging him this year. Right up there with ours and Spence two years ago.

After the disappointments we've endured, I'd hate to pin our hopes on a guy with his injury history.

But Rolle can still play. He would be a better coverage S than what we have now.

Watched quite a few Seahawk games..Maxwell gets worked and thats with Kam and Earl Thomas behind him. Now imagine him without, I'll pass.

Maxwell is a good CB. He sees a ton of balls because no one is challenging Sherman on the other side. I think he holds up well on his side. I would only look to add him if we were releasing Carr outright.

I'm not sure there's a good safety in the draft. Hasn't been in a while amd this class looks weaker there than usual. Actually think you've got a much better shot at a pass rusher than a true safety.

Give Maxell some of Carr's money. If you want to keep Carr, give him the vet min.

Nope.

Lb is the last thing we need and Rolle is not much better than what we have
Ummmm...currently our LBs are Lee, Hitchens, Wilber, and Lawrence. We absolutely need LBers.

I'm not talking about bringing either of those guys in to start either. But who would you rather have on the field...Jon Beason or Cam Lawrence? Jeff Heath or Antrel Rolle?

The injury last year was on the right.

Previously had injuries in 2 different places on the left.

He's not had any significant joint injuries, and his wheels are fine.

Upper body strength is, of course, extremely important at his position, but these are not necessarily career-ending injuries. He could be had on the cheap, and see what he's got.

BTW, don't do max-weight reps. Instead, do low weight/high reps to avoid these injuries, especially for us old farts.

If we have learned anything it should be free agency is really not the answer.

Other than cherry picking for guys who can play a role we need to stay the course and keep drafting.

Maxwell-- This year's most overrated UFA not named Demarco Murray. The 4th best DB on a team filled with guys who can cover. He'd help but chances are he isn't ever a legit CB1.

Orakpo-- He is a Anthony Spencer/Josh Brent type deal. You can give him the minimum and hope he gives you some shell of his former self but there's little guarantee he ever sees it. Certainly can not expect him to start or pin pass rush hopes on him.

Cullen Jenkins-- His best days are behind him. He's a space eater now. You can use him in a rotation but he's going to the highest bidder so makes little sense for us. We are better off developing Coleman and Bishop.

Any Safeties outside of Rolle? I saw Raheem Moore's name mentioned. The secondary wasn't terrible, but a rangy S would do wonders. I could live with Moore and Scan as the starters if a real FS is here to play this scheme correctly. Slide Wilcox over to SS and the secondary is formidable.

There's not really anyone out there that's obviously better than who we have. Need to keep developing and drafting.

I agree... Every time in see Heath on the field I cringe!!!

Plus their both from the U so I wouldn't mind it! Haha

Orakpo may do well in a 4-3 as some have said. I agree. I don't think you get him for a vet minimum but an incentive contract might work. I don't know how much money we have to spend. We need to get Dez signed, make a decision on Murray and then Claiborne. Looks like they will try to keep Parnell or Free. My guess is it will be Free. I think Parnell will get an offer to play for more than we can pay. Weems we can keep.

I still think someone like Orakpo and maybe a CB might get signed in FA; depending on cap.

Beason is too old but still may have some in the tank. Rolle I don't have a feel for.
Beason just turned 30 like a week ago...the concern with him is health, you can't depend on him to play 16 games. But as a backup he's more likely to stay healthy, he should be pretty cheap, and because he's such a good athlete, he should be a natural fit in this defense.

Rolle is 32 but is always a guy I've had a lot of respect for...despite the fact that he's a Giant. I don't think he's the best safety out there, physically, but I think he could just be good veteran depth. Plus, he's had success in the postseason that could turn out to be quite valuable to this defense.

Coleman is not on the team. He never re-signed.

Byron Maxwell would make for an interesting free agent target. Can't overpay for him though; a lot of his performance may be due to having excellent safety help which he won't have here.

woot id love to have him. imo he is much undervalued.

i saw him play against dez and dez had simply no chance to get open. if not for his injury i dont think we would have won that game.

Jerry's words on Claiborne. He was quoted as saying Claiborne has done enough to justify it, but there have been no talks of doing it within the organization as of yet. (DMN)

I still dont know what to make of JJs brainfart concerning the 5th year option pickup.

Clayborne was hurt most of the time and has shown nothing he promised during his college career.
2015 will be his 4th year so why even bother with picking up a possible 5th which will cost us around 11 mills ?

I am still waiting for 1 intelligent comment from this man. All just PR rah rah....
