Lol, SEALS win 100 out of 100 rumbles!

I'd pay to see this...any possibilities some retired RBs give it a go?

It is not a good comparison. Seals are trained for combat. Running backs are not. Both can be very athletic, but their goals and specific skill training are completely different. You wouldn't expect Seals to win out if the question was "who do you think can gain the most rushing yards against the Cardinals(ranked #1) defense". I don't think anyone with common sense would think running backs would win hand-to-hand battles against Seals.

Depends on the size of the seals. Living in VA where we train train Seals, I've seem some that are small framed--less then impressive, physically. Some of them going against a large 200 lbs + RB wouldn't stand a chance.

A trained fighter would destroy an un-trained fighter even if he gave up 50+ lbs.

Are those Seals that have completed training? Or just guys going through training to try to become Seals?

Both? I've known a few Seals that weren't that big, but also met some claimed to be legit that could have still been in training.

I wouldn't put a dime on any RB in that situation.

I didn't look at the link, but generally I would put money on at least some of the R backs winning.

Seals are trained in many aspects--hand to hand, shooting, propelling, etc--but they're not boxers or MMA fighters. If they were setting up a match fight, the seals could not go for a quick kill like snapping a neck or something or breaking a leg. They would have to fight by some set of rules which would even the plain a bit. With the physical size and cardiovascular endurance of some RBs I think that some may be victorious. Its amusing to think about in the abstract anyway.

You may want to re-think that one.

I stand by that in a controlled fight (not just trying to kill someone) that a smaller seal may lose to a larger RB, especially if they had some MMA training.

If this was MMA fighters vs seals, I'd put my money on the MMA fighters.

In the post I replied to, you made no mention of MMA fighters whatsoever. That is an entirely different than just saying a 200 lb running back (with no mention at all of any sort of special fighting training). That changes the discussion entirely.
No big deal.

Haha, yeah. I know that training can make a big difference. I didn't mean to make it seem like all RBs would beat all seals--that is ridiculous.

Well, technically, it does say Seals. You aren't a Seal until you've completed your training and graduate so I'd have to assume it's real Seals and not candidates.

It would be as dumb as thinking the Seals could win a football game vs the NFL Backs.

These guys are trained to kill with their bare hands, the best that any RB could hope for is that they could outrun them.
