NFL: Texans, Eagles, Cowboys might be interested in RGIII

Talking heads are stating the obvious:

Washington has made it clear that it is finished with Robert Griffin III, but that does not mean the rest of the NFL is. As he continues to heal, rebuilding his body back to the level he had it during a healthy 2012 season, many are wondering who will step up and take a chance on the former rookie of the year.

Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, that list includes the Eagles, the Cowboys, the Texans and theSaints, or wherever current Saints head coach Sean Payton lands. Assuming Washington takes trade calls, or simply wiggles out of his 2016 option -- which is guaranteed for injury only -- and releases him, Griffin will escape a toxic situation and start his career over again.

Johnny Manziel coming to Big D would be as comical as anointing KM the new answer. I'd take RG3, would he would soon be in line with Dez....blamed for others ineptitude. Go figure.

LOL at O'Brien trying to make RGIII fit his system. He'd be yanked after the 2nd drive.

If Matt Cassel, Kellen Moore, and Brandon Weeden can dress out for Dallas, there is no way RG3 can't. The guy's been humbled and deserves a chance much like all the rethreads we've seen in Dallas and in the league as backups.

He should be entertained as a backup first, to Romo.

Johnny Manziel would be suspended by Roger the moment he hits Big D, from his own doing.

I'd rather have RG3 than Manziel.

Hopefully neither.

I think because I don't live in Texas I don't understand the hate for A&M because people go off on him here but just from the eye test I would much rather have Maziel than RG III.

Honestly though I don't think he's going anywhere because he's shown the Browns enough on the field unless he screws up off it.

The big difference is that Griffin has been "humbled" because of his own doing. He is a diva QB. If he put in the work, he could have beaten out Cousins.

I'd prefer drafting the next starting Cowboys quarterback for the long term but as a number two for a few years, I'd take a chance on RG3 over Manziel any day...RG3 has talent and ability but I don't want Wade Wilson here to groom the next starting quarterback for this franchise, it's time for him to go

That's fine.....doesn't call for a life sentence though....he could beat out any of our backups right now. And I'm only referring to RG3 as Romo backup.

Johnny, on the other hand, has not shown he can stay away from the limelight to grasp the Cleveland job. We'll see in his next 3 starts.....but he is gimmicky. Can he show up in the next 3 games and perform?

And Griffin isn't "gimmicky"? He can't even beat out Colt McCoy.

I get you feel sorry for him, but let someone else adopt him from the unwanted QB shelter.

I could see RG3 being a good backup with a team that already has a mobile QB system... I just don't think Dallas has that system.

This is a great observation. Even when he had two functional knees, he did not run with the idea of throwing. He ran to run.

Romo scrambles (okay, spins around to his left) with the idea of throwing the football.

That might be the last straw for me. Seriously. I've been patiently waiting for 20 plus years for something to happen that I can't tell you about for fear it might scar your children. If that walking we todd becomes a Cowboy that may push me over the edge of ever caring again.

One of the most overrated prospects to ever come out of the NFL draft and a lot of you reading this bought into it. I still remember the QB envy after his rookie year of football for dummies.
