Come on you didn't want Elliott or any of those stud olinemen?
The last 6 or so years in the 1st I've wanted Ramsey or Bosa, 2015 Didn't really have a want but hoped Ray would fall after the possession charge, A. Donald, Eifert, Cox and Watt. So no, they haven't done what I wanted or what I would have done even in the 1st. They haven't really been close to picking who I wanted in later rounds either.

I've been pretty much on the money.

I think the team will take Peopers if he is there. Not saying it's the right move but the sizzle factor is off the charts

What's it going to be then, eh?

Melifonwu is everyone's workout darling from the Combine and of course there is the assumption that Byron Jones is stumping for him.

That is all fine, but I don't think he is one of the 28 best players in this draft.

Where have you seen we want to run a base cover 2?

Are you the same guy who said we wanted to run a base Tampa 2?

If so, stop.

I've been banging the drum for Budda Baker for a while now. That guy is a terrific football player. He lives and breathes football and has a football IQ out of this world.

He's going to start right away and make an impact.

I am sure that he has been flagged for being too short per our physical cut off parameters. And that is unfortunate because he is exactly what we need at this point.

His versatility would be invaluable with a group in a state of flux like this.

Man, I liked Obi at 60, pre combine. At #28... not so sure.

Athletically he checks out, defensively not sure if he is a first round grade safety.

You want physical guys playing safety for you. Is Obi a physical safety? I haven't watched "tape". None of us have...but his highlight videos show a drag down tackler, not a physical presence.

Again, I may be missing something. No access to the coaches' tape means we can't see everything.

Nice that everyone has there choice of what we need and who we should take when 28 comes around. It is always interesting to see the comments but then for me reality sets in and I realize that Dallas could care less of what I think or any fans, they will make a decision when 28 comes around to either choose the BPA according to their ranking or decide to trade down if a team comes asking for 28.

Could it be a safety, yes, an OT, yes, a DT, yes, a DE, yes, a CB, yes, a TE, yes, any of them would be a good pick. Now if there is a guy like Rueben Foster that fell or a QB like Watson, or a RB like Davin, then I would say we probably will not take them but trade down although who really knows.

Yes, I can see an Earl Thomas comparison, although I think Baker might be more instinctive. Baker is pretty close to Thomas' size when he came out.

Just listen to his college coaches and you can see how much they think of him and his smarts and play style. They loved him. He's been starting at Washington since the day he stepped foot on campus.

You think Baker is more instinctive then was Thomas, coming out? That really shocks me.

If we can get a SS who can cover TE's and allow Jones to stay in centerfield, or if we get a centerfielder who allows Jones to be the SS and keep covering TE's, I'll take a safety at #28.

But if we're just looking for another guy like Church who can tackle but can't cover anyone or play in centerfield, then wait till later in the draft.

Imo Baker is best at FS or a nickel safety which is still a lot of snaps.the problem here is we are set at FS.

Center fielder would be Baker IMO

Rod is a product of Kiffin. He's just done better adjusting his schemes to the players on board.

The basic staples are pass rush through committee, LBs who can run and zone coverage in the secondary (Whether that be cover-2 or 3 depending on the down/distance, etc.) and producing turnovers.

The scheme has looked different because he didn't have the players he wanted to run it to spec. Hence the entire secondary being allowed to walk in FA. The writing's on the wall, man.

If he's there at our pick, I wouldn't hesitate. Put him at FS and move Jones back to corner. It would be upgrading two spots because Baker is just a natural FS with FS instincts. Under 6 feet or not, the guy can lay a lick too.

Great football player.

Absolutely no on Obiwan.
I agree on Baker he is a football player, have no issues with Obi would be a real asset in the redzone with those octopus arms. Lots of good safeties in this draft, the player from Texas A&M, Justin Evans is really good and could be had late second or third just to put a safety pick in context of the whole draft.
