I'd be thrilled if we got a decent CB who plays solid special teams - maybe even return punts and kicks. Sifting through the names, the one that stands out is Keon Lyn, who ran a sub 4.4 40 prior to a knee injury which looks to be fully rehabbed now. He is a willing special teams player and could be a good fit. He's 23 years old. He is a long shot for sure - went undrafted last year before signing with Colts briefly.

If Carriker is healthy, he is the 1 tech that Marinelli wants. Smart, powerful, hustle player with 4.7 40 at 6-6 310. Can also play 3 tech.

Kick tires on Minter, was playing all world in last preseason for us until got nicked up. Sammy Brown is also intriguing as pass rush specialist. Can Rayford put it together finally, freakish athlete.

I think Byon Jones from Connecticut would be a good pick up in the 2nd or 3rd round. He is great speed and jumping and leaping ability, but was hurt last year.

Another CB with special teams skills (excelled as punt returner at FSU) is Greg Reid. Undersized, would only be a nickel corner and special teams returner. Coming off two ACLs.

A good punt returner is of great value, can change your field position in an instant.

Another name at CB is Jordan Sullen. Scouting report at link: http://predominantlyorange.com/2014/05/16/scouting-denver-broncos-udfa-db-jordan-sullen-tulane/

Here’s what you need to know about Sullen, how he can impact the Broncos, and what he all brings to the table.

Vitals

Ht: 5’11”
Wt: 200 lbs.
40: 4.60
Vert: 32″
Broad: 10’4″
3-cone: 6.66

2013 Stats

44 tackles
3 INT
10 PBU

Positive Attributes

  • Quick change of direction skills

  • Doesn’t have great deep speed but recovers
  • Did well when tested deep

Is he any good? Might be a back-up to Fred? The Zack Martin/Notre Dame connection intrigues me.

I doubt it. Most these players never pan out after multiple stops. If anything this combine let you know some of these guys are still available and is in shape.

Maybe we can find a backup OL here

Graham Pocic was once highly regarded C/G prospect out of Illinois. Massive, 6-6 315, versatile and only 2 years in the league. May lack ferocity and consistency.

TE Justin Jones is former BB player who did not get lot of time or catches at ECU but converted an amazing number for TDs. Huge, 6-8 280, with crazy hops, 37" vert. Could be goal line specialist or OT project like Parnell.
