How is Andrew Luck ranked 10th of all time? I'm sorry that's just laughable to me, regardless of how talented he is right now. I guess there really hasn't been that many good #12s' in the NFL for them to be putting a 2nd year player, and no I'm not knocking Luck(he's great).

Thought this was strange also. I haven't scoured the internet (nor do I plan to) to see what other number 12's there have been, but I find it hard to believe there's so few that a 2nd year QB whose story is far from written needed to be included on an all time list like this?

Nothing against Luck by the way. I think he has incredible upside and will end up having a damn good career.

perfect example of the failure to understand the concept of the word team.

One play in either game and we win. Yet somehow you think this makes Bradshaw better. Pathetic.

In every measureable way Roger was the better QB.

Indeed.

Rings should be a factor in the equation, no doubt, but some people let it tip the scales far more than it should.

Statistically, Roger was better then Bradshaw and not just by a little bit. QB Rating between the two is a good 14 points higher for Staubach. However, if you are going to say that Championships decide, then OK, I can understand that but if, in fact, that is the reason, then Kelly and Namath have no business being ranked where they are.

We have found common ground

So if you could take any of those QBs in their prime who would you choose?

For me:

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Andrew Luck

(the rest)

And if you coulda taken any QB in the 70's it would have been Roger.

Roger Staubach, Tom Brady and Ken Stabler (he should be higher on list also)

Any chance the author/producers of this are from the north east?

The fact Andrew Luck is already on the list is as big a joke as anything else. I mean seriously, ahead of Bob Griese?

As much as it bothers me, I can concede Bradshaw was better. He has the hardware.

Not just in response to you, alex; many share your sentiments.

But I think you're wrong here. No one should concede this.

No one will ever say that Aikman is a better qb than Steve Young, so they really shouldn't say Bradshaw>Staubach either.

Bradshaw has a career completion percentage of 51.9%, had almost (2) as many ints as TD passes, averaged 166 passing yards a game, and a 70.9 QBR - he'd be cut in today's NFL.

Most of those guys played well before my time... but I'd love to hear one good reason why Joe Namath was better than Roger Staubach. Embarrassing list.

Why should I care about where some ignorant yahoo ranks Roger Staubach. He will always be #1 on my list. Period.

Staubach, quite literally won just about every award and accolade a football player can win in college AND the pros. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam, is a success not just in sports but in business, a man of high moral character and unquestioning integrity. There is not another player on that list that is half the man that Roger Staubach is.

Was this written up by a young reporter on a deadline? Seems that way as half-baked as the list is.

Kelly > Staubach .... 0-4 in the SB vs 2-4 :D

Fins would be even more infuriated - HoF Bob Greise is not even mentioned!

He'd have better numbers in "today''s" NFL.

Andrew Luck? Over Bob Griese, for one?

What a dumb list.

Didn't know Brady, Rodgers, and Luck all wore the same number. Wow, so original!!!

If i was a QB, or an NFL player in general, I would want to wear a number without a lot of history behind it, so I could make it my own. Just my opinion.

When Joe Namath was at Alabama, he was a truly great prospect. Before the injuries, when he could still move, he could have been one of the all time greats. When he was young, before he sustained even more injuries with the Jets, he was still very, very good but he was not Staubach IMO.

Namath is still relevant, IMO, because of where he played and when he played. Lots of little kids watched Namath play in the NY Area and now, all of those little kids are older writers who influence opinions.

Just one of those things.

Saying a player will always be #1 on your list is just admitting hero worship and that your list can't be taken seriously.

Which would explain the rest of your post.

Consider the source on any top X lists.
If ESPN did this list, he wouldn't even make it. Or they would have Cunningham ahead of Roger.

It's all bias opinionated haters anyway putting them together.
