which one of the finalists would replace upshaw, probably with players voting, so guys do you think upshaw is on his way out?

Roger Staubach is selling his company. I think he'd be great at it. I wouldn't want to in his spot though.

Yep, just a matter of time. No deal with owners....upshaw seemed unwilling to deal or he was not flexible at all.....bad for players.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning, one of the guests they had was Robert Smith. He seems to have his hand in with the players union. I wouldn't be surprised if his name came up somewhere.

mike ditka........

iron mike would get some things done for the present and the past. he would get a rookie salary cap. he would get money for the old guys. he would get the players to get their act cleaned up and be more self accountable.

i wish all NFL contracts had disciplinary clauses in them. if a player gets suspended by the league for a year or more, the team can cut said player with no cap hit.

Upshaw needs to go, he's stood up there and screwed the veterans by saying there's nothing wrong with rookie contracts. He should have been gone...

No way any old(60+) guys get elected. Guys like Ditka/Roger have NO chance. They want a young guy. "They" say Troy Vincent is bucking for the job, and Robert Smith has to be considered. Maybe Kevin Mawae will retire after this year(he'll be 38 next Jan.) and be eligible for the job as he's an "Upshaw" guy, so maybe he'll get some support for the Upshaw crowd?

I heard Gene Upshaw speak on the radio a couple of days ago about the rookie contracts and other issues.

He sounded like he has the IQ of a dirt clod.

Blaine Nye would get my vote to succeed him. He's not a lawyer, but an economist. One of the smartest Dallas Cowboys ever.

But, it would probably knock him out of the Zero Club.
