This is a nice piece by NFLN. I like to think of Parcells as "Boot Camp" for the new recruits. Another good analogy would be "Good Cop Bad Cop" Parcells roughs'em up, and Phillips sweetens the approach. Looks as if the Boys are "Sing'n like a jail-bird".

Phillips is the cook, using Parcells groceries.

I like Phillips ST but fear JJ the GM back LT.

I believe he's afraid Jerry will trade for Ladainian Tomlinson to play on special teams.

I thought he was saying he was afraid Jerry will drive his GM truck back late tonight.

I agree that Parcells had a huge hand in amassing the current talent, but Sabol's declarative, "20 of the 22 starters" were Parcells picks just does not sound right:

Starters who were not Parcells acquisitions:

Roy Williams
Flozell Adams
Andre Gurode
Leonard Davis
Greg Ellis /Anthony Spencer
Ken Hamlin
Nick Folk

I would also place Owens on this list.

In addition to wanting to pick Spears before Ware. And Romo? He can be credited for sitting him for as long as he did, but can he really be credited for making a "personnel decision" on him? It was our scouting dept and Sean Payton that were pushing for him.

And it was all BP who wanted to give Gurode one last chance in 2006. He was the one that grabbed Columbo. He was the one that insisted Romo sit and learn and kept him no matter what, even when Jerrah was busy with his former base ball players. Look at Jerrah's record of drafts up till 2002. Look at BP finding a way to get Ireland as the man on the draft board. MOST of talent on this team is due to BP and what BP did with the organization. By the way, that whole thing about Spears is urban legend to a great degree. By draft day, BP was well aware that Ware had to be grabbed first. his performance at the Combine really shot him up the draft boards. Its very convienent to forget that going into that Draft Spears had a pretty big rep- and was one of the FEW prototype 3-4 DE's available.

We were living through a movie quote under Parcells.... the groceries were in the house... but rarely prepared for eats....

I disagree with all the praise the Tuna is getting. He is no longer with the team, so no matter what the mediots are saying he has no say so at Valley Ranch. The amount of praise they are giving him is almost a left handed insult to Wade. Wade is a very good coach, his approach with this team is excellent, and the team results are a product of his coaching and approach.

All of the mediots that are praising the Tuna forget what followed him when he left the Jets, New England, and the Giants. To me that puts it all in perspective.
