I have to say I've been impressed with Nick Folk.

That 47 yard field goal he made kicking off the infield dirt was solid. Hopefully the Cowboys have found the answer to their long standing kicking woes.

I gotta admit.

I was wrooooon....

I was wrrrrooonnn....

I was wro.....

Someone help here.

I was of the mind that you never...EVER...draft a kicker. I'm please with how Folk has looked.

I hope he's just as $$$$ in a pressure situation. Next week at Chi-town will be a tough test. Swirling winds....rabid fans....more than likely a close game.

I've never understood the "never draft a kicker" mentality. I'd never propose spending a first-day pick on a kicker, but why is it better to spend a sixth-round selection on a longshot to make the team than it is a talented guy who splits the uprights a high percentage of the time and regularly kicks off a yard or three deep into the endzone?

Right. I just hate him. I don't loathe his everlasting guts as I do most kickers.

Nice to feel good about your kicking situation. Something we have not been able to say for some time.

Kid is doing a great job so far.

On the post game show, Spagnola said that Folk had all kinds of trouble kicking in warmups before the game on that infield. He just couldn't get his (plant foot) cleats to grab that hard field. Spags didn't think he would make th 47 yarder and that was pretty much the maximum distance the coaches were going to give him on that field.

FYI:

Mason Crosby, the other rookie kicker, missed a 42 yarder for the Packers.

Not that it mattered as GB trounced the Giants.

Justin Medlock from UCLA, was drafted before Folk. He struggled, was waived by the Chiefs, and is now on their Practice Squad.

Our recent sawed off midgets...

Vanderjagt, working on his drinking and heard mumbling about being the greatest.

Cundiff, seeing dead people.

Cortez, hiding from Larry Allen.

Gramatica, concentrating on his other career in salsa music.
