The 3 QBs are gone (that part is good as it should help push players down to us).
Clowney is gone
Mack is Gone
Barr is Gone
Donald is Gone
The 4 OT's are gone
Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans are gone
Clinton Dix and Pryor are gone

You call around but can't find anyone willing to trade...

Who do you take?

BP, you can be one sick dude at times.

Anyway, this forces a BPA without the flexibility of a trade to match BPA and need.
That means you take either:
Mosley
Gilbert
Dennard
Ebron
Jernigan

whomever they like the most

I have a USC bias so i would take Lee in that scenario.

i think the team would probably take Ealy if it fell that way and they couldn't get any trade offers.

in reality though i think with Ebron and Gilbert still on the board i would be shocked if they couldn't get some action on the phones.

I would take Ebron, have to replace Witten anyway next 2 years. I never considered Escobar to be a guy who would be the #1 guy even before he was drafted.

All QBs wont be off the board. I think they like Martin and alot. Absolutely do not reach for need here. I think Jerry is praying JFB is there.

A guy that I absolutely love but is at a position that I really don't want to use a first on is WR Brandon Cooks. I think he is going to be dynamite and if everyone else was gone who I wanted to take and I couldn't find a trade down partner, I wouldn't hesitate to nab Cooks. His is extremely talented.

Shocker could be a WR like Odell or Marquise.

I would be OK with a WR at 16 if this nightmare scenario plays out and they pick a WR they slotted around 20/22. They need a WR with deep speed and adding an explosive element to the offense would be a huge boost.

Your scenario has about a 0.001 percent chance of happening, IMO.

Ebron or Gilbert is probably the BPA.

CBs are more expensive in free agency than DTs. If they take Gilbert, they could then cut Carr (before or after 2014) and use the money on a free agent DL in 2015.

The Cowboys are not 1 player away in 2014 and should not approach the draft as if they are.

If you feel the team needs a WR with deep speed and explosion, you should take a look at Brandon Cooks.

He really, really impresses me. I think he's going to be very good. I'm not saying we should take him at 16... or even at all in round 1, but good grief that guy is amazingly athletic.

He reminds me of a more athletic, sane Chad Ochocinco.

I think the only two WRs at 16 that I really really like would be Watkins and Evans. Now a trade down would be a different scenario for me.

Have you watched much of Brandon Cooks?

It is really difficult to make a 5-9, 183 pound WR into a full time outside WR. It is really hard to use a 1st round pick on a WR if he does not project to be 3 down player.

I am not taking a CB in the first round. Just not happening this year.

Pryor is already gone in my scenario.
Don't want to take Mosley in the first because has had multiple injuries
Not seeing Nix as a guy they would take in the first.

Who they might consider...

Ealy, although that really does not float my boat at 16

I like Jernigan but I don't know if they like him in the first without trading down.

They might reach for Lawrence, Attachou (sp?), Ford.

Maybe they Like Tuitt more than I do.

Shocker could be a WR like Odell or Marquise.

Maybe they like Shazier or Moses?

Your stuck with Ford or Jernigan if you cant trade down. One or both would be available a few spots down though probably
