NIL deals going crazy

Tampering? kind of hard to prosecute that when there really is no enforcement body anymore.
Wisconsin has sued Miami over this. Claims they tampered with a contract Xavier Lucas had with Wisconsin.

It's al about upside and projection for QBs at the top of the draft. It has nothing to do with college stats.
I guess a you might think so.
I guarantee any good GM notes completion percentage amongst others
these stats you claim mean nothing DO
Film exposes all and Arch on film makes your claims paltry

I see you are a real draft historian and film enthusiast. lol

Arch is a very toolsy QB, but he was not a good QB the first half of this season.
His running ability was wildly overstated, and his passing accuracy was very questionable.

But he has great arm strength and very good straight-line speed.
Last year he looked a lot like Josh Allen AT WYOMING.
The issue is too many treat him like he is Josh Allen NOW.

Staying in school and developing will help him immensely at the NFL level where he will no doubt go top 3 based on potential if not this year's performance.

he is going to have to look a LOT better or he is not top ten even with his last name

This NIL stuff has completely destabilised college football. At some stage there will be a lawsuit which will classify NIL recipients as professional athletes. Who knows what impact this will have on everything including the draft.

Amatuerism was always a farce. The Olympics got rid of it and now the courts have had to intervene in the name of fairness to get rid of it in college. If you are so good at what you do that someone is willing to give you money to do it, isn't that the American dream? College amateurism was pure communism. The schools, conference, NCAA, and networks got all the money and the athletes got a uniform, food, and a place to live. It hasn't been a fair bargain in a looooong time.

The problem isn't the money anyway. The problem is the transfer portal. I think we will soon see that tightened up and player contracts. The money for players is here to stay.

I dont like they way it masquerades as an amateur college sport. A pro football program is a pro football program. Pro athletes should be treated as pro athletes.

you are going to see NIL contracts with much tougher enforcement clauses. Just like regular contracts do. You sign a contract and do not fulfill it you should pay a high price

The fascade of amateurism was taken down by NIL. Carson Beck isn't even enrolled in classes. He graduated 2 years ago. He is basically a professional college athlete. I liked the old system better in some ways. But, the rules guarding players from making money were so unfair it was just a matter of time before someone challenged them in court. Manziel can't earn money signing autographs? Just absurd levels of policing to make sure the NCAA and athletic programs were the only ones making money.

I think things will get back to something closer to normal once they figure out the transfer portal. Who cares if they get paid or make money? It never bothered me watching the NFL.

Contracts go both ways. What if the player doesn't get playing opportunities or gets beat out for a job or gets injured? This gets complicated fast.

so you are saying that the player has no responsibility to obey his contract?

No, i'm saying that the contracts might not always benefit the player or school. College football teams move on quick from injured guys or players who don't show up to class. Thats hard to do when their is a contract involved.

Until they fix the portal system, the schools have no leverage. So, players just take the money one year at a time. In a contract situation, schools or players might be looking for multiyear contracts. Then it can get complicated.

Tech paid Cincy 1 million to buy out Sorsby.
That stuff should be common in deals, but teams have to guarantee 2nd years for that to take effect.
Tech has done that with a lot of guys.

if you are over 18 and you sign a contract, you are legally required to fulfill it. You seem to think that is just a detail.

I think we are talking past each other as usual. Where exactly did I say that contracts, once signed, do not need to be honored?
