Dooley and the 49ers WR coach both worked for Lane Kiffin. Dooley likely called folks to put in a good word.

I agree... and yet, teams do it all the time, although it is usually closer to the season.

I really hope that Washington makes the 49'ers roster for the season. Or at least the Practice Squad so that the Cowboys can steal him back.

I know Washington had a good back story and all, and people pull for him because of that. I was too, but at least wanted him on the PS. As I always thought Byrd & Boyd would have a better shot at making it. And because mostly, Washington needed a year in the weight room. That was my only reason.

Maybe somehow we can still get him there. But I would be ok if he made the 49er team too.
We have a lot of young WR's to develop, Street, then if 6 are kept, Boyd or Byrd. Briscoe a shot too.
