Didnt Seattle have the #1 ranked rushing defense when we played them in 14' and we ran all over them

Leave percy alone. :)

No, what it really was is a friend of mine sent me this yesterday:

And I was like 'where do these guys get off being so cocky about this game?' If I were a Packers fan, I'd be worried about a road team that travels as well as we do bringing in the specific offensive we're bringing up. I get that they're a good team, and that they have that home field advantage (though less so in October), but they haven't been a pretty ho-hum 3-1 so far this season. And as we're seeing here in this thread, there's no guarantee they're going to be able to stop our offense. We can hurt teams a number of different ways.

Yep.. It really comes down to how well our defense does against Rodgers.

I hate this matchup for our team.. Absolutely hate it. I think we are better than them but their strength offensively is our weakness defensively and they play the run well defensively.

See my post above. They haven't played a team ranked above #23 in rushing.

Dallas can definitely beat Green Bay if they play like they have been so far. They have another level though so we will see.

Really not sure what to make of them on offense this year. The Rodgers completion percentage thing I have a hard time wrapping my head around, and since I haven't seen any of their games, it's hard to say what's up. Just looking at the box scores, they don't look all that formidable.

I know I should know better, but I have a hard time taking this version of the Packers all that seriously. They're obviously a good team, but with Rodgers merely human and their strength reportedly in the DL, this seems like a game we can win. In fact, I'm a bit perplexed that we started out 5.5 point road dogs in the first place. Anybody who's followed them closer than I have able to educate me as to why they're favorites?

Since 1995, the Packers are 124-37-1 (.769) in regular-season games at Lambeau Field. Only New England at 125-37 (.772) is better at home.

Never underestimate an elite QB like Rodgers. I assure you he will shred our defense. The question will be if we can keep up or not. I have faith in Dak, but not our defense. This will be a very fun game to watch. I can't wait.

I realize that this early, stats are always deceiving.

But statistically speaking, Dallas hasn't faced any of the top rushing defenses (though NY is pretty good) and Green Bay hasn't faced any of the top rushing offenses.

Again, part of that is because those teams' stats include games vs Dallas offense and Green bays defense--which skew them further down by average.

I think Dallas can run on anyone. Just maybe not quite as easily vs GB
The big question will be how our Defense contains Green Bay, imo.

They are honoring Brett Favre sunday and they are also wearing those ugly throwback uniforms.

I am just sick of hearing about the packers and lambeau field. The shops up there that sold the tony homo buttons before the playoff game can get bent also.

I really hope we just pound them into frustration and win. We had them beat in 13 and 14 and lost both games. Even last year we ran the ball well against them and were in the game mostly until the end.

This would be a great time to get over the hump. If Lacy is banged up they will not be able to run the ball and we might actually be able to get to rodgers if they are behind and have no running game.

I just want to beat these guys more than usual.

I guess that's what it is, then, huh? I'm still surprised at the line. I know it's a very tough game to go up there and win, but we're a good traveling team, and we actually match up well against them right now (I disagree with Catch there). I guess we'll see what happens.

Packers haven't really played anyone that can run the football.

I think the Cowboys can run on them.

They will stack the box and will be effective against us, they do have some studs in their LB unit. However, our success with the run will come down to keeping them honest with the play action pass. This is a great time to hit Dez or Beaz on the slant to keep the chains moving.

I loved watching the O-line dominate the Bengals. Especially Martin, Frederick, and Leary. I like Collins and he is going to be great but I think Leary is better at this point. I just like how he plays. What a matchup on Sunday. Hopefully we get to see more of the same.

Exactly a very misleading stat. Jax...no legit running game and terrible OL. Minn AD was hurt in this game but they did shut him down until he got hurt. Detroit...no legit running game. Gnats....no legit running backs. Very misleading ranking for the pack imo.

Glad we are not playing this game in December when weather is more of a factor.

Rodgers has been just average, but is capable of breaking out at any time. I hope it's not this Sunday.

The challenge o noffense is the same as it was against Cincy: our o-line against their front 7. We dominated Cincy and I'm not sure how much better the Packers are. If we can run against them, we have a good chance.

If Rodgers breaks out of his slump and goes wild (which is very possible) we won't win. If he stays average, this is a winnable game. After all, the Jags almost beat them.
