don't know if it was posted here, probably so but for those who missed it like me.....

As of now, the streaming service will be available independent of the DirecTV contract. If you don't have a contract, no fret, you can still get Sunday ticket to your console, computer, tablet, etc.

Anyway, enjoy!

I don't follow, tell me more

I think it is like this: 2014 is the first year that DirecTV doesn't have an exclusive on the NFL Sunday Ticket, meaning that you no longer have to be a DirecTV customer to get the S. Ticket.

So, you can get an app for your laptop, tablet, PC, etc. to be able to watch NFL S.T. (still have to pay for it though).

Somebody correct me if that isn't right...

Apparently, not everybody can get it. Here is what the site says:

Now you can stream live, out-of-market NFL games on your favorite device without a DIRECTV satellite TV subscription if you live in a select apartment building where DIRECTV service is not available, attend one of these universities, or live in one of the following metro areas: New York City, Philadelphia, or San Francisco. Check your eligibility.

Bummer.

Well I like in a quadruplex? lol its like a big building with 2 apartments on the bottom and 2 on top. We can't get direct tv here, landlord wont allow it. And yet im somehow magically still ineligible. I'd really like to know how they base their eligibility. Guess I'll just stream the games or spend my money at the bar instead of it going to direct tv.

They've had it for a few years. This year they just appear prepared to push it more than they have in the past.

Last year they included the subscription in the limited edition of Madden.

$100 and you got the game and Sunday Ticket.

I need to see if they will do it for people who travel a lot, and basically stay in hotels.
But since I did have it at my house, and had an account from 1997 to 2013, they may not. But I'll try it to see.

Guess they could say, I'll get it, then go home and not travel. This was what I wanted to do before last season, but they told me I need to subscribe to a basic home package deal. Then they insulted me, so I cancelled everything. I still see all the cowboys games while away through slingbox. I just like to watch other games too that aren't on locally.

You can find a lot of complaints online that this service sucked in previous seasons. Always curious if that was DTV fault, ISP related, etc.. If it was DTV I hope that invested on their end to improve the user experience, especially if they are trying to push the product now.

I am wondering if they are determining eligibility on the ISPs available in an area. In my area its either Verizon or Comcast

10 of the Cowboy games were broadcast in upstate NY last year. I cancelled the ticket because of that. Plus, going out for some wings and beer for the other 6 games is worth getting out.
