Been looking over the schedules and crunching some numbers and it is going to take a major choke job to lose this division. Why?

With the Skins losing to the lowly Vikes last night that pretty much ended any serious talk of them winning the division. There is not going to be any 7 game winning streak this year, just look at their remaining schedule. Plus they are 0-2 in the division and a horrid 1-5 in conference play.

The Giants at 2-6 are done as well. They are 1-2 in the division and 2-4 in conference play, it would take a choke job of EPIC proportions for them to catch us considering they are 3 wins behind us and have already lost to us, in effect making them 3.5 back with 8 to play. They would have to almost run the table and have us lose the majority of our 7 games remaining. They are also at San Diego, at Detroit, and have games at home against Seattle, Green Bay, and us.They would have to go 7-1 the second half of the season just to make it to 9-7, which is probably the record required to win the division.

The Eagles are our closest competition, but they have already lost to us on their field, so the rematch will be in Dallas. Further more, they also have 2 divisional losses already compared to our none. They also have 2 conference losses, compared to our 1. While their schedule is easier compared to ours, they are currently riding a 11 game home losing streak so playing games at home is really not an advantage for them.

Bottom line is if we can get to 9-7, there is almost no way we can lose this division because we will have tiebreakers on just about all of our division opponents. So that means we go 4-3 over these last 7 and we should win the division. Basically the only way to lose this division is to have a losing record over these final 7 games.

If we have a losing record over these last 7 games..................no excuses for Garrett, will be EPIC choke job.

Winning the division isn't enough for me. For me to believe Garrett is worth keeping, the team must got at least 9-7 AND win the division.

It's very do-able.

Disclaimer: 8-8 AND winning the division AND winning the Superbowl would not disappoint me...

Dont see how Garrett can post a losing record over these last 7 games and get a redo for next year.

That is going to be one hard sell to the fan base.

It won't be all on Garrett if this team loses the division. The players are the ones on the field.

If Garrett cant go 4-3 down the stretch, there is no hope for him.

True, but 3.5 years as head coach and not a single winning season is Dave Campo territory.

It would basically be the equivalent of Jerry bringing Campo back for a 4th season..........................I dont recall that happening.

I don't know what Jerry is going to do.

You got that right. That would be the worst debacle of a HC in memory if we don't win the East. I cannot recall when the NFL east has been this weak, this awful from top to bottom. And I am including us in that bad bunch because when we meet the "tough" teams, our defensive vulnerabilities will be there for all to see.
On the other hand, IF we had a decent running game, we'd half a pretty awesome offense.
Awesome, I tell you.

The coaches are running away from the running game. And the running back is hurt. And....there are no holes for the running back to go through. They can call a running play, but there is nowhere to run.

I hope they can get that fixed.

Does Farmers Ranch have any rabbit holes?

I am not sure that garret will be fired even if theymiss the playoffs just hired all these new coaches last year and I think jerry will givethem some time; I think if they don't make the playoffs there will be lots of blame on the players to cowboys have changed coaches and its still 500 ball club maybe the player are not as good as some think.

I cant rule out the NYG. This Sunday, when the clock hits midnight....its likely they will be 3-6 and Dallas will be 5-5. Then the NYG host GB without Aaron Rodgers. It is very possible that in a few weeks, going into their game, the NYG are 4-6 and Dallas is 5-5.

Nothing written in stone yet. Check out the 1970 and 1971 Cowboys for a local example. The Giants and Skins of recent made a run. Still it's the Boys to lose. Romo and Garrett both have a lot to gain by making some noise. Unless the D gets better then it's going to be uhhh, exciting.
