This week Ron Winter's crew will work Sunday's game between the Cowboys and Eagles.

This will be the second time they have worked a Dallas game. The last was the October meeting at Kansas City in which the Cowboys were penalized a season-high 13 times for 90 yards. In the last two games Winter has worked, the Cowboys have had at least 90 yards in penalties.

Last week the crew worked the Miami-Houston game with 10 penalties of which seven were accepted.

The breakdown:

Offside - 2
Unnecessary roughness - 1
Illegal block above the waist - 1
Illegal use of hands - 1
Illegal motion - 1
Ineligible man downfield, pass - 1
Illegal shift - 1
Defensive holding - 1
Tripping - 1

Quarter by quarter breakdown:

First - 3
Second - 3
Third - 4

Well Cowboys have been doing a much better job of not committing as many penalties as of late. I think that has more to do with the team than the refs calling the game.

All I ask of the refs is to call the game the same for both teams.

Oddly enough, the breakdown from their last game looks like they were letting the teams play,,, not too many calls and zero holding or pass interference.

I don't recall the KC game, did we get "home-towned"? If that's how this crew rolls then maybe it is the Cowboys turn to benefit.

God I hate this guy. He's the same ref that called the Suggs roughing the QB call on Brady earlier this year when Brady looked at him after a hit and five seconds later he threw the flag.

He as also was banned from doing Giants games for three seasons after a terrible call in an overtime playoff game a few years ago. Get ready to scream at your television guys..you know it's coming.

I know many like to make fun of those who blame officials for loses or because they suck etc.

The seriousness of this will be on display Sunday.

A well timesd holding call or illegal hands can stop drives. PI calls can provide points at any time.

Not calling illegal contact or defensive holding can change entire gameplans and the entire course of games.

Officials and what they do or don't do matter.

So, go through this weekend asking youself, how the number 1 or 2 game of the final weekend of the season got the worst or second worst officiating crew.

Then prepare yourself in case the officals are able to control Sunday's game.

Too bad we couldn't get Terry McAulay's crew again. They did the game against the Saints and I thought they did a very good job of calling it fair throughout.

I think most refs are mostly honest most of the time; however, there are a few whose inexplicible calls and actions make you wonder where their loyalties really lie. Accusations are easy, proof is hard to come by.

Even if the NFL had conclusive proof of a ref fixing a game, would anyone ever hear about it? I doubt it. I think they would simply privately caution that ref to be more discreet or risk losing his job - JK, he would probably be quietly dropped without a word.

Is he the one who called pass interference on the Browns in the game against the Lions, on a Hail Mary? That's an unwritten rule and has been as long as I have been watching football. You do not bail a team out on a Hail Mary. You do not call PI on a Hail Mary. That had to be the first time I had ever seen it and the worst call I have seen in twenty years because of that. That is a can of worms that should never be opened.
