I dont understand how a report says they arent close surfaces the same time a report says a deal is most likely done and will be announced next week. It confuses me
Kinda hard to have first hand accounts but there was two civil suits for unpaid debt for jewelry and tickets for over 800k
That doesn't show a player smart with his money to borrow money to buy hundreds of thousands in jewelry to me
No that was Romo.No one will be given the chance. Calvin Johnson got almost $49M guaranteed and a $16M signing bonus. The last reported offer to Dez was $20M guaranteed and a $5M signing bonus. It could very well take $40M if not more to get him signed. He knows how important he is to the Cowboys that was made crystal clear vs the Packers in the playoffs. With the game on the line the Cowboys chose to throw a 50-50 jump ball to him on a 4th and 2 instead of going to Witten on a much higher percentage play to pick up the first down.
No that was Romo.
In playoff game in GB dez had 3 catches for 65 yards?
Seriously? I wouldn't be fine with them leaving especially if they can't be replaced. This isn't madden football.
In playoff game in GB dez had 3 catches for 65 yards?
In 2012 playoff game in GB Nix of the Giants had 5 catches for 255 yards and 2 TD's and one that set up a FG, accounting for 17 of the giants 20 points. (all in the first half)
Now that is being a beast!
If you look at the big games (playoffs or win or go home games), Dez rarely has a big day, so is he worth 100 mil as a decoy?
Not saying he isnt good, but a superstar ??
Plus he is a off the field worry for the FO.
I think the cowboys FO is not going to give in , they will just use the tag, it is dez who will have to give in.
Those issues happened in 2011.
I think we all can agree that Dez has matured over the last 4 years.
Do you always use such stale news to influence your opinions?
You should....stop that.
History is usually a good indicater of the future till proven otherwise
The fact his he blew through his first contract on frivolous toys. He does seem to have matured and that's a great thing
But turning a kid loose with what will be his biggest and last huge payday in his life is not always a good thing
We see examples every year of guys who leave the game with nothing
Dez is from my hometown and I want to see him succeed not only on the field but off. I think it's to his advantage to help him plan for the future just in case he is not capable of doing it himself because there is more proof he hasn't planned for the future so far than there is he has
I think jerry really cares about dez. Not just as a player but as a person and I think he is sincere in his thinking of protecting dez's future
Until proven otherwise? It was 4 years ago. And what do you mean blew through his first contract. Has Dez been playing for free the last 4 years?
It's just libel at this point.
He owed nearly a million bucks on jewelry when he got his first paycheck
That means he borrowed nearly a million bucks to buy jewelry which to me doesn't scream of being fiscally responsible
That's a huge percentage of his pay if you look at his after tax income
For jewelry!
Yes. He was a 21 year old sudden multi-millionaire. He made some bad choices.
News at 11.
That was also 4 years ago. Bryant has lived 25% of his life since then. More than 70% of his adult life since then.
How much did you grow from 21 through 25?
Unless someone is going to use a recent example of Dez being poor with money....i'm going to give the benefit of the doubt based on all the talk around his recent maturity.
But that's just me.

Fair enough
That's why we all have opinions
I hope he has grown more financially responsible because he is about to get the paycheck that will determine his financial future for the next 50 years or so

It was Romo's decision and it was a bad decision with all the time that was left he should have gone for a high percentage throw to either Witten or Beasley to pick up the first down.
