That is not a fair compromise. That is re-setting the market(CJ doesn't count).

That would be a gigantic deal and a gigantic risk if the 40m is fully guaranteed.

I don't expect him to get 40 million in up front money
He may get that in fake guarantees like many contract are
Like roster bonus if you are on the roster a certain date

But I would be very surprised if he actually got 40 mil up front

You brought up this hypothetical saying no team would offer him 40m. I simply responded saying you couldn't be more wrong.

You're a joke dude.

No, that has always been you.

You keep bringing up the open market that doesn't exist for Dez.

If they can find better players at the position then i'd be fine with moving on from McClain & Hardy, they're ultra talented but they are the biggest red flags on the team.

If they could find better players they wouldn't have signed them to begin with
There are very few guys with their talent who hit the market and aren't major expensive if there are not other issues

Dez is kind of on the open market....that is if some team wants to offer two firsts, but that is steep coupled with paying him as well.

If Dez was an unrestricted free agent, I would bet that there is a "well-run" FO out there that would give him 40+ guaranteed. He just hit his prime and is a top WR.

There may not be many teams, but a few would IMO.

Of course this is just my opinion, but I get a good feeling about Hardy.
His all in so far and a positive presence in the lockerroom.
Now Ro I am a bit leery of after the past year of 'get to know him'.
He'll have to been treated 'special' but if the coaches are OK with it,I'm OK.

Still don't like the idea of paying a WR $100 million, but it'll be nice having Dez around for a while longer.

The one thing about the Cowboys that most teams will not do is give monster signing bonus $ to players.
Jerry take's it out of petty cash.

• Thomas signed his tender.
• Thomas didn't threaten to hold out into the season.
• Thomas doesn't play for the Cowboys.

When did Thomas sign his tender? If he did, it was very recent. And stupid of him to do so, of course. But when?
Dez was being talked about more before he said anything about this season (and it's pretty clearly an empty threat).

That would be awesome. There's your ticket to the next high profile QB coming out in the draft.

On the guaranteed money. A lot of these reports are probably including guarantees for injury which is different than fully guaranteed. In Romo's case, spotrac shows Romo got 40 million fully guaranteed. But otc shows 55 million guaranteed. That is likely 15 million guaranteed for injury that otc has added.

I think they wait until Monday to do the deal publicly. They probably have a verbal agreement already.

Find better players means keep them for now and next year look towards the draft & free agency.

Who cares? Nobody wants a team full of choir boys, the dudes can ball on the field and as long as they stay on the field and win us games they can retire cowboys
Doesn't matter how much of a badass you are if your problems could keep you off the field, a team full of good guys usually don't win but bad guys don't guarantee victories either.

Romo's guarantees were staggered. He didn't get the last 7.5m of his 2015 salary guaranteed until this March. The other 7.5m wasn't guaranteed until March 2014.

If it was good enough for Romo it is good enough for Dez.

Well, they're going to do what they're going to do. They can keep playing hardball with the best receiver in the league, tick him off, probably HAVE to trade him next year if he becomes an issue and Romo will become a "never been" as a result. Sorry but if Romo gets a ring Dez will be tied to it.
