I don't see a slump coming. Unlike that Eagles QB, Dak actually improved throughout last year and that should continue.

That's the real test.

I expect Rayne to fail horrifically and we'll be back on the QB market next offseason. Right after Romo wins the Super Bowl in another uniform.

Encouraging to read this as Sean Payton tends to be right about such things. Wish he could be leading our team next season...

He's been 7-9 the past 3 seasons, his arrow is pointing down.

Health permitting Dak will have more TD passes and passing yards but I expect his INT's to go up some and his passer rating to go down some due to taking more shots down the field. I think we'll open up the passing game more in his second year which may have some affect on his efficiency. I'll be fine with 30+ TD passes and 8-9 picks.

I think passer ratings in general will keep going up on average because the over the middle throws have recently become far easier, less risky, due to stricter rules and enforcement.

But yeah....30 and 9 would very nice.

I don't see Dak improving on a 104.9 passer rating. If he throws 8-9 picks next season even if his TD passes go up which I expect them to, that will lower his passer rating some depending on how many TD passes he has. Taking more chances down the field will likely lower his completion percentage a little to around 63-64% which also will have an affect on his passer rating. I see bigger numbers but not quite the efficiency we saw last season. I could see his passer rating around 99.0 to 101.0 which I would take with bigger passing numbers.

no. I don't either.

Just saying it's easier to do now than even just a few years ago due tot he rules.

Yeah, it's a lot easier now to produce high passer ratings due to all the rule changes that have made the league pass happy. The last I checked 7 current QBs are in the top 10 all-time in passer ratings.

Dak avoiding a sophomore slump will have a lot to do with Zeke staying healthy. If Zeke misses some games next season it will put a lot more pressure on Dak and the passing game. A rash of injuries on the OL could have an effect on how well Dak plays. Our defense will also have an impact on how he plays. Leading the league in chewing up the clock played a part in Dak's efficient season. They'll be a lot more film study on him heading into next season. For him to be as good as he was this past season and improve on it he's going to have to keep getting better.
