I can't explain it - but the officiating over the past 3-4 years is at an all time low. They even get the benefit of replay and they screw that up all too often. It's aggravating and mind boggling.

Blatant hold by T. Williams on Murray's huge run that sprung him loose. That drive also resulted in a TD.

Boy, those refs sure are biased against us.

Look guys glory days changed his avi, he gave up on his Seahawks too after that L yesterday. Now he is a futbol fan, until Real Madrid gets knocked out of Champions League and then he will change it to Lebron when the Miami heat are in the NBA finals.

Totally agree, I've never seen it worse. It's so bad sometimes you wonder if it's all on the up-and-up, and that's a terrible feeling.

The last thing I want is to see this league become like the NBA, but that's the way it's heading.

And glory is right, there's tons of holding going on all over the league. It's just that most fans only notice it when their team is on defense. Truth is, our O-line holds all the time, just like every team's does.

Soth made a great post about the statistics backing up the ref bias against the Boys. Other teams get more calls, "on average" or are less penalized then otherwise, while we are penalized more. It makes many uneasy to believe that ref bias is there and has had an effect on this team. That is not to say we are the most disciplined or technically sound squad, far from it. But over the course of seasons and varying coaches who tout varying levels of discipline, the results are always the same. I beleive there was one season (2003) in which Parcells defied the statistic, but other than that year, it holds true.

As to why? I still hold that it is personal, UNINTENTIONAL, to many degrees, bias on the part of the individual refs. There isn't a grand conspiracy that many naysayers want to categorize us in a cliche fashion. I've asked the question, how many refs grew up as Cowboy fans? Not many. How many grew up rooting for team "X" while still holding a negative view towards the Dallas Cowboys? Just about all of them. How could this not effect their performance when conducting games? The ratings don't lie, we are the most hated (and loved) team in this league, from a fan's perspective. You either love us or hate us.

In other words, it's easier for refs to be unbiased in a game that has little to no conncection to their own personal fandom while growing up as football fans/players/refs, etc.

Excellent explanation.

It is individual bias, not a conspiracy.

Always does go both ways. Kind of my point.

No, it doesn't. The Eagles and Giants game at NY didn't go both ways. Both were abominations.

I don't think it's a conspiracy, although I've seen plenty of normally sane people go into a rage when it come to their hatred of the Cowboys.

I just wouldn't be surprised if there were some refs that badly hate this organization and that may influence some calls.

I thought they let them play overall in the secondary. Not much was called either way.

I believe this has some merit. Wasn't it Jerry who tried to break the Officials Union when they went on strike a couple years ago. I believe he was adamant about them not getting what they wanted.

So, I can see where they would have a disdain for Jerry.

Not complaining. They could have flagged Orlando Scandrick on the 3rd down pass play to Pierre Garcon that led to the Commanders punt right before the game winning drive (there was contact).

Calls tend to even out. I consider that no-call an equalizer to any non-call we didn't get in another game.

You're kidding yourself if you think the officials, as human beings, don't harbor some kind of favoritism towards some teams over others.

The refusal to replay Dez's reception against the Giants is what really made me question things. As bad as the call was and if they didn't overturn it that would still be an awful call; the fact is that we were owed a replay and for whatever reason never got one.

I have no qualms w people complaining about the refs when they are as bad as they have been. But don't sit here and tell me they have something against the cowboys and that they are intentionally screwing us. I'm not buying that.

you are exactly right. The general theme on here is as follows:

When Dallas loses and there were some questionable calls- There is a conspiracy and they all hate the Cowboys. How can we beat the other team AND the officials.

When Dallas wins and call goes in their favor: Officiating all over the league is bad, but you have to overcome it like we did yesterday. We won that game, officials didnt really help us.

the end.

the funny part is that 28 NFL teams' message boards all pretty much say 4 teams are favored by the officials: Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Packers.

I don't buy that for one second.

Then why does the Dallas Cowboys not have the best coach in America coaching them? Instead they have a coach that doesn't have the experience or qualifications to be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys is not a place for learning on the job.

To further that point jerry undervalues a coach because if he went out and got the best coach there is the. He would have to admit he was wrong. That he was wrong about Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer and Bill Parcells. But mostly he doesn't want to have to admit that jimmy was right

Jerry has screwed this team around with Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett.

Meanwhile Bill Belicheck, Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy, Pete Carrol, Jim Harbaugh, John Harbaugh among others have been more than available and I don't think Jerry has ever even interviewed any of them
