mr. Hadenough---- the coaching is just not smart...you dont attempt to install brand new complicated defense with little practice and training time...that is just stupid....and McCarthey signed off on Nolan's smart scheme

and when you noted how Wash defensive players swarming toward ball...that is coach Ron Rivera specialty...he will make sure you got a good defense....but the greatest bafoonery was when we were only down 20-16

in 4th quarter with 4th down at our own 20....and McCarthey signed off not only foolish fake punt...but a play that was slow developing ( long reverse ) ...it was doomed from the start..its like McCarthey is ensuring we

shoot ourselves in the foot no matter what.....get em all out of there Jones...but he probably wont...it might make him look like he made a mistake
You Nailed it G! The Cowboys were in that game until McCarthy lost patience.

playing 2 lb is a mistake every game
The 3rd LB played less than 30% of the snaps in the Marinelli era...

Nolan plays a bigger front 7 on run downs than they did in the 4-3.

Nolan often plays a 3-4 look on run downs which basically replaces a 4-3 SLB with a 320 pound NT.

He needs to be let go and play a dame 4-3 defense , get rid of this absurd nickle package all of the time, I can deal with playing 2 lb and getting run all year
He needs to bench Jaylen Smith................ Hell, Smith is the only player I've ever seen who plays so out of control for and yet when he finally falls on a player and get's correct for the tackle he will get up and run 15 yds from the point of the tackle, raise his arms like he's god and then reach around his back and pat it like he's all world. The dude couldn't start for Notre Dame this year if he was still in college, that's how sorry he is.................

Jaylon was once a talented player limited by his physical ability. Now his talent is in question which makes his physical ability of no use. His latest interception landed right in his lap while he was lost meandering in open space. He lacked the ability to get the TD and lead to the offence getting us no points. Ineptitude on top of ineptitude.

It's not just the coaches. These multimillionaires are horrific. Washington game was a complete devastation. Special teams made a gaffe. Ewok fumbled. That’s five lost fumbles for him this season, maybe it’s time to stop trusting him with the ball?!

Lamb dropped a TD. The D was gashed for three rushing TD's by a rookie.

Nolan was a garbage hire to start, now we are seeing the results.

Garbage in, garbage out.

Definition of a Nolan coached defense.

Always confused, no matter what team, no matter which players.

Nolen is trying to do things he doesn't have the personnel or had the time to implement. That's bad coaching. Straight up bad coaching. He wants to be bill Belichick, but he's not.

I'm not a fan of Nolan in another thread I talk about player personel. I want them to lose out gain draft picks because next year they need quite a few new faces on defense and two or three on offense.

His system is trash. But to be honest we just to be one and done with this coaching staff. Clean house. Jaylon needs to go period. Zeke. He just needs to reevaluate himself for real this offseason. I don’t think he will be the same player, it’s crazy tho he’s had this offense line, he shouldn’t be this worn down already. Need to go really heavy on defense this draft

Yes, Nolan is dealing with some talent issues on defense. Fine. But he makes mistakes that have nothing to do with talent.

Let's start with how he gets conservative when he has a team in a 1st or 2nd and long situation. He seems content to just give up 7-9 yards easily to prevent an opposing team from getting a first down. Today, I believe, we had the Skins in 2nd and 19, and the defense played a really soft zone, they picked up 11 yards and made it a more manageable 3rd down. And this happens weekly.

And his blitz designs are so mundane. I watched LVE blitz, twice I believe, where all he does is just run straight into the heart of the OL. Smith did it as well. Nolan just seems to think throw an extra guy at the OL and someone will break free.

The sad thing is he's going to be here for at least another season or two. And he's going to influence the talent acquisition process as well. People better prepare themselves for a leat two more years of mediocre to bad defense here.
Seriously my biggest worry moving ahead (other than the two idiots running the team not being qualified) is that they keep Nolan and bring in guys he wants them have to dump him.

That's why we need an organizational philosophy and hire coaches around that.

The morons will never get it. Its whackamole via dumpster diving every offseason.

I'm not a fan of Nolan, but the D has improved. Add to that he is lacking talent in the DB area, the cowboys edge players like peaking inside and don't consistently set the edge. The fan base complains that his blitzes are simple and predictable, yet you have an actual player complaining and asking to simplify the defense. What else is he supposed to do. I like Antuan Woods at NT, but he is no Darron Payne on the other side. DLaw sometimes sets the edge and then sometimes plays hero ball. Wilson is a solid underneath run helping safety but that's it. Xavier Woods can't catch balls that hit him in the hands. And they lack awareness as well. Jaylon did good catching that INT but let's be honest it literally hit him softly in the abdomen. How do you miss that? Watch the replay he was shocked. To his credit he got it and almost ran it in. But these are the players Nolan is working with. Do I like Nolan? No, I prefer Marvin Lewis, but honestly he would have only been slightly better. As in we go from being ranked 24th to 21st. And I only say that cause he runs a pure 4-3 defense.

What is your basis for writing the D has improved?

This defense looks much improved from earlier this year. More importantly, I see emerging young players. I thought Hill looked significantly better than last year. Gallimore could be starter for long time. Vander Esch looks like pro-bowl player and I thought he was done after that neck injury. Diggs was flashing before his injury. Even Wilson looks like he might be physical force at S. Gregory looks like elite pass rush specialist. What your seeing is team with entirely new coaching staff who didn't have enough time to install their philosophy due to Covid and then hit by unprecedented rash of injuries. Still need to sign two FAs (DT, S) then draft another CB and LB.
LVE look like a Pro Bowl player???.....are you watching what game film. He makes a play or two, but he ain't at pro bowl level. And if you think so, therein lies the fanbase problems. He was getting ran over too, in defense of him AND JAYLON, our interior line is getting smashed.
