Norm & his crew are pontificating on the Ticket just now that it looks less likely that the Boys will find a willing trade partner to trade back. They surmise that all of the top 15 players might indeed be gone and that those that might have traded up would now only offer a 4th to come up to 18. They suggest that Atlanta & the 49'rs are looking at going up much higher than 18. The Cowboys might have to just take whatever is left on the board at that point. Looking more like another draft year bust...

So you're saying there are only 17 players in the draft that will be good pros?

Don't listen to Eeyore. He loves to play contrarian, just like Gosselin.

Wait and see how things play out first before calling this draft year a bust for us.

I actually think this is a perfect draft to stay put. Almost every draft evaluator out there has claimed that the talent level of guys 5 through 40 is pretty comparable. Usually a few teams..I think this year the Raiders and some others trading up...will reach for a guy they have to have. The Bills want Nassib, even though a second round grade in some circles. This will make guys drop and they can grab their OL, safety or DL. If certain guys drop then you'll see more chances to trade. Overall Id just take the talent there.

Do you want the Cowboys to settle for a high second round player (not ready to start) for your 1st round pick. I think the Boys will probably have to trade up to get a player that could be ready to start.

I have no problem with us staying put !!!

In fact, we should have stayed PUT last year.

We can get solid, ready to play, players at #18. We simply must do our HW.

Don't get cute and move back to get a bunch of back up players.

If the guards and Richardson are gone i'm all for it. Take Reid in the first, grab best available DT and OL in the second, and Schwenke in the third.

History & precedence is way far statistically on my side my friend. Just look at history before spouting your waste....

....not the last two years, it doesn't.

Your 49ers will be good this year, little buddy. I'm sure of it.

its ridiculous statement by Norm. This is not a 15 deep player draft. Its more like one of the deeper drafts I have seen thru first 4 rounds. They are trying to create hyperbole before the draft.

If only the Cowboys would have lost a few more games last year, we'd be able to draft a player who isn't a bust.:lmao:

It's all Jerry's fault. Jerry should have known and planned accordingly. Everything is Jerry's fault.

In case you haven't figured it out, all teams "have to just take whatever is left on the board at that point." Unless you would like the Cowboys to draft a player already chosen earlier by another team:)

Make yourself very happy and obsess over the 2009 draft and also the Bobby Carpenter pick and conclude all is over.

Such garbage on the ticket. We can trade up or back if we really wanted to. No one knows how this draft shapes up. What if geno smith falls to 18 and someone covets him? You're telling me someone won't give up a 2nd or 3rd to get up for him? We have no idea what is going to happen

LOL, calm down!! I still think 2 QBs will be picked before us which will push some talent down our way. The Jets will be very tempted to take one now that they have Tampa's pick at 13.

Norm said that they are pretty sure they are going for Tavon Austin now at that pick. But they do think Geno Smith might still be on the board at 18.

I love Norm but he has done little for me as far as crystal balling the draft EVER.

He provides insane amounts of info and is a good draft listen; but he isn't an authority AT ALL on what teams will do.

Goose at one time was a draft guru who sank lots of time into team data mining and thus he had a feel for the actual draft. But he left that behind and is now just a really bitter media member who comes off as having sour grapes over anything Cowboys. He's becoming Skip Bayless without an imagination.

Dallas can have a successful draft this year provided they don't panic. There are players who can help this team in 2013 as constructed through 3 or 4 rounds. After that they can still find developmental guys and practice squadders.

If the Cowboys do see every 1st round graded guy gone by 18 then they simply can take the guy they like the best amongst the various positions of need in that next grouping. It's not a reach if they all rank similarly anyways.

I said earlier there would be some surprises and that's not prophetic merely historical. Someone will get pushed to us and then they will have to decide to take or if someone calls trade down which I have no problem with at all.

Teams are only going to offer a 4th to move up? LOL. If the Niners want to come up from 31 I want their 2nd and at least a 7th.

I like Norm, but he goes negative at times. On this he's just being dumb. On the one hand he says Dallas has little talent outside of a few players, and now he's saying that no one can help them at 18? They must be very talented or this is the worst draft in history....

History will prove that this draft class like the past drafts will have an abundance of talent at 18 and below.

at 18? maybe Williams but not the other 2 I rather Reach a little and grab Reid than grab Jones or Werner there. That extra 2nd rounder would help and they still get the safety they need. I would address ol and dl with the two seconds and third.
