He's has been talking about the Cowboys all day.

He says that he wouldn't be surprised if we won the NFC East and he believes a 9-7 Club will make the Playoffs this year.

He thinks the Vikings and Saints are the best teams in the NFC but after that, he is not sure.

Heh... I almost posted the same thing, Mike.

He very rightly pointed out that we watch the Cowboys every week so we see all their warts, but we don't notice enough the warts other teams have, like the garbage the Eagles rolled out against the Raiders.

I've said this forever. No, we aren't perfect. Well guess what, other than the very rare team like the '07 Patriots, the other teams aren't, either.

Cowboys Nation loves to live on the extremes.

One loss and it's time to fire Wade Phillips, purge the team and get ready for the No. 1 pick in the 2010 draft.

One win and we're ready to win the NFC East.

WOW! I'm not listening to him, but I just started a thread asking that very question! Are we now the NFC East favs?

Yep, I should've posted that.

Great point by Norm.

I thought it was foolish for people to give up on Tony Romo and the entire season after we struggled to win against the Chiefs.

The Cowboys will be competitive and have a chance to win in every game.

I'm telling you guys, don't be surprised if we beat the Saints. I don't think the Saints Offense or any other big time Offensive Team is going to be spectacular game after game.

The Cowboys kind of remind me of the 2005 Club, where they kind of play to the competition but we are right in the hunt and I think people got a little too concerned with how other teams were blowing out weaker teams.

I wont get too excited, but I will watch this thing one game at a time and see how it all plays out.

That's not just the Cowboys Nation. That happens everywhere.

Also, Norm says that some of the leaders in the locker room such as Leonard Davis should start a penalty fund.

Basically, everytime someone has a penalty during the games and practice, they get fined. After the season, all the proceeds go to charity.

Something really needs to be done about all the penalties.

Why not?

Do you not think we are as good as the Eagles and Giants?

I believe we need to beat the Giants on the field but Dallas is capable of beating both teams and vice versa.

Also, the Giants are on an 0-2 skid right now.

I think the assumption is that we could just as easily find ourselves on an 0-2 skid as rip off a big winning streak. This win showed our potential. It doesn't mean we won't revert to mediocrity, say, next week.

I'm guessing we get between 9 and 11 wins. But within that narrow range you might have the difference between missing the playoffs and winning the division.

Things are definitely looking up after this win. The team is definitely capable of playing with the best, they just need to put it together more consistently.

I agree.

However, I think we have really found something in Miles Austin.

This guy is going to take a HUGE amount of pressure off Jason Witten and the Running Game.

What I am afraid of is that teams will start to double team Miles Austin and others won't step up.

If we see more of Felix Jones and Tashard Choice and the defense continues to play well, we could have a special season.

This is an excellent point that I myself have made over and over to what I perceived to be overly negative Cowboy views on this board.

You have to have balance and be realistic. And I don't mean settle for mediocrity. I mean simply grade them on a realistic curve.

Not some unrealistic, ideal, perfect and seriously unattainable standard.
The 90's Cowboys never dropped passes, never jumped off-sides and of course never lost a game.

Giants get punched in the mouth at home by Arizona. E Gals get beat by semi-pro Raiders. Commanders a complete train wreck. Anything is possible though I still expect the Giants be there in the end.

Well, there's the issue of sanity for one.

I'm just an advocate for balance. The season isn't over yet. The end of the season will reveal all. The Cowboys have not established any consistency as of yet. Let us lose to Seattle next week, and the world will be coming to an end in this forum.

Maybe I've seen too much football to get caught up in one game. Criticize the players or praise the players for that game. But to project beyond a game and obsess over one game, especially when the season isn't over, is an exercise in futility, IMO.

I hear ya.

The Cowboys have played fairly inconsistent but I could see us winning the NFC East.

I am still worried about leadership and discipline but if Tony Romo can continue to play at a high level, I think we could win the Division.

It won't be a piece of cake.

Teams are starting sour on the Giants and that is when they are the most dangerous.

I think there is a long ways to go. Cowboys played a great game yesterday and should be proud of the way they played. They however still have some things they need to work on and improve on. Hopefully that will be the MO of this team one that improved as they moved forward

I thnk we can ball with Minnesota for sure.

New Orleans is the only team that trully scares me in the NFC.

But I will readily say, Minnesota, New Olreans, New York, and now maybe even Arizona are all not to be taken lightly.

2 weeks ago he was talking about how we where one of the worst teams in the league...

There no middle ground with the Cowboys media, we're either the best thing ever or the worst :laugh2:

No does not scare me that much i mean that defense did give up 34 points to Miami it is not like they are all world.

Good defense and a good running game can really hurt NO
