I saw that at the end of their win.

Was that right? If so... I am never jealous of anything... but that right there makes me........... Jealous!!

They're undefeated in December. They're 12-1 in December AND January where they lost to the Pats in the AFCC last year.

That needs some perspective, though.

It is impressive that they did that, but for the past two years they've had to do it because they mismanaged the first 11-12 games of the season so terribly. And the only reason that led to a playoff berth this season was because the west was so terrible.

So, it is definitely impressive, but requires some auxillary information.

Thats true to a point.

But at the end of the day.... "needing to win" - They have THAT down pat. We dont. That speaks of the teams character.

Also... some more "auxilliary info" - they lost 2 heartbreaker games in last 10 seconds or so.

I think they are better than their record and Rivers is the real deal. LT never seems to be healthy for the playoff games... and even when he is healthy... he is not a difference maker in them.

Bottom line, they do a better job of winning in december.

They get the job done when they have to.

Doesn't matter. They've won when it actually matters. In December and January.

I'll take being 7-5 through the first part of the year if it means going undefeated in December and winning in January.

What teams do in September and October doesn't translate into championships necassarily.

Yes it does.

You can't absolve their complete mismanagement of two-thirds to three-quarters of the season simply because they turn it on at the end and get in the playoffs because the Broncos choked.

That's very, very relevant.

To add further to that December success I recall Norv commenting early in December that he put his team through practice hell in preparation for the late season run.

I'll trade with'em! I'd just like to see the Wade and the Cowboys have half as much guts as the Chargers have in Dec.:(

yeah it's relevant that the Broncos had the shot to beat them and get in on the final weekend and they didn't get it done. Who did? The Chargers.

They can't control who they're scheduled to play or how the rest of the teams do. They only control what they do and they won when it mattered most and then went into the playoffs and beat the team who was on the hottest streak of the whole league.

The great Peyton Manning, coming in on 9 straight victories, got bounced for a one and done by the Chargers. That's plenty good enough.

I'd rather Dallas be 8-8 right now and in the second round of the playoffs, having won 4 straight to get into the playoffs, then to have went 9-7 and got bounced from even making the playoffs by getting KILLED in Philly.

An 8-8 Dallas team wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

That's why you need perspective on this. You can't just forget about how horribly Norv mismanages that team for the first three months of the season just because his team turned it on at the end and lucked into a playoff berth.

A Norv Turner coached Cowboys team probably goes 7-9 this season.

I wouldn't totally say he mismanaged the team, they had some horrible injuries and got a game stolen from them by the refs. They also did what the did against the Colts mostly with out LT. Just face it Norv's doing a whole lot better than Wade and Jerry screwed up not hiring him.;)

I think once anyone is pining for Norv Turner they've lost the plot and are really overselling what a terrible job Wade Phillips did here this season.

That's not a vote for Wade - it's just ten votes against Norv.
