Norv's thoughts on our team

This is from Galloway, who started naming a "San Diego source" but has been drinking on his show and pretty much admits it's Norval himself. (As do all the other hosts.)

Says Ratliff is the best defensive lineman they played all year.

Ware is obviously special.

Spencer is, surprisingly to Galloway, a very good player.

SD has great respect for both our corners, Jenkins and (yes) Newman.

Our weak spots, they felt, were our D-ends and both safeties.

Also said they don't want to get run all over, but they'd rather get run on than have Romo throw it on them. But they did say if you could stop the main threat of Austin making huge plays on you, you'd be okay.

Just FYI.

So this coming up draft we should be looking at the positions in the trenches... O-Line and Defensive ends.

What does Norv know? He's just an NFL Head Coach. We have real experts in here.

I think that was already a given. Aren't Spears, Bowen, and Hatcher free agents?

Wow, go figure. It's too bad Garrett calls pass plays too often.

Finally, someone who agrees that Spears is no big deal.

IMO, Spears is another wasted first round pick.

His solid, but unspectacular, play would've been just fine if he was a 5th rounder, because we would've let him play out his rookie contract and moved on.

As it turns out, it may happen anyway, but a former first round pick? Please.

Spears was a monster at LSU- he dominated in college and was one of the best D-Lineman in the draft that year. He might be a better 4-3 DE. Like Ellis was for us.

Trust me, I thought Spears was gonna be the man here, and I was elated when they selected him, but sadly, he has done nothing to warrant that selection (although he actually made a few plays yesterday).

Heck, Bowen seems to make more plays when he's on the field than Spears ever dreamed of.

Tuna looked at Spears and saw Leonard Marshall, just like he saw Bavaro in Fasano. Didnt quite turn out that way.

Ouch. A slap at Olshansky?

Yes, but could that remark about the ends, be about a behind the scenes tiff with some of Norv's staff and Olshansky?

I wonder if Spears could carry twenty more pounds and man the nose. That way we could move Ratliff outside.

San Diego gave Roy williams the least respect you can.

Single man coverage and they pressed.

and he couldnt make a thing happen.

Personally, I want him outisde on first and second down and inside on third down (with a situational pass-rusher outside on third).

You took from that agreement that Spears was a wasted draft pick? Really?

That is sad, but i believe it. No doubt Roy is the weakest link on the offense...well other than Free.
