Havent had any time at all this week to analyze Patrick Crayton's numbers. Yeah, I know it is a team deal and we are not playing great right now.

But heck

Tied for 3rd in Receptions

2nd on the Team in Touchdowns

2nd on the Team in Receiving Avg

Some of the other measurables that I dont really know are valid at Snap Stats, such as "Passes Dropped" and "Percentage of Passes for a 1st Down" are pretty impressive too.

This guy has nothing but upside. I am a little worried that the huge supporting cast in the Receiving Core helps him out tremendously.

Thats what a team is supposed to do for one another. Crayton feeds of of the attention that Key and GLenn get, oh yeah and Witten, but when he gets his chances, he produces. I'll take that anyday. How many Wr did we go through that couldn't get open when Mike was here, and he was being doubled all of the time. Crayton has work to do, but his confidence makes up for his faults right now. He shows a cockiness that needs to rub off on some of our other players. The kid just goes and plays ball. Will he ever make a number one Wr? Who knows, but he will be in the league for awhile. IF HE EVER LEARNS TO RUN LOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nah, I wasnt criticizing him for that. I was just trying to lower my expectations because he has such a great supporting class, I dont know if he is capable of doing great things once he becomes the man, or a guy DCs scheme against.

I hope he can, once he learns the position. Right now, I dont know that teams are scheming to stop him just yet. This guy may catch 50 balls this year. That would be a huge leap in productivity.

Actually, it was a 6th Round pick, but Terry Glenn was a 1st Round pick at one time, Crayton wasnt. I would say Glenn's expectations were a little bit higher...

Nah, I knew you weren't criticizing him. I love the kid. I used to coach a kid from his college named Mario Woodson. Mario told me then that he had the best hands he ever saw. He couldn't remember a game that Crayton played where he dropped a ball. Mario also told me Lynn Scott would be in the league for 10 years too. They all went to NE OK St together. Said Lynn Scott used to put people in the hospital every week in college.

Yes, that guys' hands are amazing. Parcells said they were the best on the team, but I am still not convinced that his are better than Keyshawn's, I think Keyshawn has some of the best hands in the entire NFL.

I just love how Crayton is coming on. He has some very good hands, exceptional size, and is not a burner, but he has what people call "football speed", that kind that is very deceptive and he can get going once he has the ball.

I was reading some article a while back, and it shed light on just how hard it can be to learn the Receiver position (which I thought would be one of the easiest) and this guy looks like he is picking it up fast.

Parcells really is a genius when selecting players. I dont care what anybody says, the old man still has that talent, and most of the players he picks up, are not just players that are good in his system, but could hold their own on other rosters.

The fact that he doesn't have burner speed and is strong as an oxe, is what perplexes me. It would seem he should spell Key. I know they want to keep Glenn healthy, but we do have PP, don't we? Crayton has all the makings of a possesion WR and thats what Key plays. I just wonder if BP doesn't want to offend his boy by giving Crayton reps at his position.

Yup, and if Stepfret Williams, Clay Shivers, Pittman, Carver, Greg Ellis, QC, Hutch, Henson, turned into Pro-bowlers, we would have 7 SBs wins. If we had drafted Payton Manning, Ray Lewis, Randy Moss, TO, Ed Reed, and everyother pro-bowl player we would monopolize the NFL. I think there is a way to turn back time and do it too.

OMG, Bryant is doing squat currently in Cleveland, I see people are still blinded by his potential *tisk* *tisk*

Crayton has about 15 more yards on 3 less catches, which is a higher ypc average, 2 TDs to AB's nil, and 4 receptions of 20+ yards to AB's nadda, and that's being a 3rd WR, as opposed to being a #2, Bryant, so, that would put the future Jerry Rice, on our roster, at say...Peerless Price, which means he wouldn't have gotten off the field, in this, his contract year, and wouldn't have received a contract extension, see where this is going?

We're not the only team having some 7th round receiver love. T.J. Houshmanzadeh was a 7th rounder for Cincy too. Of course, I think he's better than Crayton by a long shot at this point, but Crayton is coming right along.
