So what are the (early) thoughts about Brown being tried at FS? Is that an indication that we're overloaded at CB and given Brown's size he might make a decent safety? It sounds like the former 3rd round pick of the Packers is doing well in camp and maybe that prompted the move. Or maybe it's early planning for 2008 since Hamlin may not be back in Dallas.

I don't think its any indication of Brown performing poorly, but rather a sign of them liking his versatility. Looks like they're trying to find a spot for him to stick around.

I don't know about you, but having a FS with 4.3 speed makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. One that can play CB in spots isn't a bad thing either.

according to wade phillips in his press conference he mentioned that the team felt it was in the best interest for brown - meaning he had the best shot to make the team as a safety.

Come on Winicki - tell us what you are really thinking - that your boy Watkins should be worried.

You have to remember BP is not here Keith Davis maybe doesnt make this team just on his ST play this year.
Maybe trying to cover all the bases if one of the starters gets hurt. Would if RW would be out for 5 games Hamlin moves over Pat comes in Brown nickel and backup.

I just think guys like Killer and the LS our in trouble with phillips. BP stressed and wasted roster spots for st players which most coaches would not do. If Brown is a good ST player and a better defensive player we go with Brown over Killer.

I doubt this has an bearing on Hamlin -- Hamlin's play is what is going to decide his future with the team - I guarantee that if he is "the answer" at FS that he'll be back with a fat contract.

I think they plan to play Brown at safety, then later at cb, then if he can play both, he would be backup to safety and cornerback,

players that i see in trouble with brown and ball are reeves and nate jones

then you add in joey thomas, aaron glenn might be in trouble, because glenn has had trouble with his knee too,

from all accounts, Davis is playing really well so far, though. And he is a great special teams player with starting experience. I think he's a lock for backup strong safety.

Brown is competing with Elam for the 5th safety slot

Courteny Brown? Former 3rd round pick of the Packers? Where did you get that? I am sure I am reading this wrong.

former 3rd round pick Joey Thomas, from the packers...lol not Courtney Brown

Joey is a Corner...and is balling out in Camp...so he might take up the last corner spot..and maybe force Glenn to sit

I disagree Mike... I think it is both interesting and important:) .

In fact the more and more I think about the more and more I like it.
