When you work through the 53, there really isn't much up for grabs.

Smith or Smith (FB)
Wilcox or Frazier
Gachkar or Durant or Morris
Whitehead or Jones
Green or ?

Injuries will answer some of this, but here's the 53 right now as I see it.

QB (3) - Romo, Prescott, Showers
RB (4) - Elliott, Morris, Jackson, Dunbar
FB (1) - R Smith
WR (5) - Bryant, Williams, Beasley, Brice, Whitehead
TE (3) - Witten, Escobar, Swaim
OL (9) - Smith, Free, Martin, Collins, Frederick, Leary, Looney, Frederick, Green

DE (5) - Lawrence, Mayowa, Irving, Tapper, Russell
DT (5) - TCrawford, Thornton, McClain, JCrawford, Collins
LB (6) - Lee, Hitchens, Nzeocha, Wilber, Lewis, Gachkar
CB (5) - Carr, Claiborne, Scandrick, Olatoye, Brown
S (4) - Jones, Church, Heath, Wilcox

K/P (3) - Bailey, Jones, Ladoceour

PS: Jones, Frazier, Morris, Coe, Jenkins, Akunne

McFadden makes the team, Jackson to PS, unless they go one less on the DL

You also have Frederick listed twice. So Jackson does stay, and only 8 OL.

I don't think so. What's McFadden going to do? Be inactive every week?

I think the biggest questions at this point is do we carry 3 QB's on active roster?

The other is if we will carry 4 RB's . Most likely we will with McF injury concerns and Elliott's abusive case moving forward.

I don't there's any question at all. With Romo's health questions, it's virtually mandatory to carry three. Showers won't get through waivers, and they don't want to lose him after being in the system for a year and progressing as a player.

No that player would be Jackson.

Jackson plays special teams. McFadden doesn't.

Can't dress a guy if he's just standing around, and you don't need three tailbacks that do the same thing. Dunbar gives them another dimension.

I really haven't been that impressed with Showers. And with Dak looking like he can handle the load think he's worth taking a risk.

We'll see but with Romo's injury prone recent history it would definitely support carrying 3 but not just because we like Showers that much.

Moore is only expected to be out about half the season so he'd definitely be available down the stretch if needed who we still like more than Showers at this point based on last years performance .

Lawrence won't count against the 53 the first 4 games.

The whole Showers won't go through waivers argument is unfounded. Every team has a project QB on their roster that they haven't given up on, they won't drop the guy they know so they can sign Showers who went undrafted and hasn't really proven anything yet. Showers will make it through waivers and be on the practice squad this season, just like Kellen Moore was last year.

Yea, but if Zeke is suspended or hurt who's going to block for Romo in backfield ?

McF is insurance we're more familiar with.

Dunbar is going to be on pup . He appears more dispensable at this time . Jackson is PS material.

That's true, but if you replace him, you have to guarantee the full season's salary for that player for the entire season. Teams don't like to do that with fringe players. That will be a cheap rookie that gets that spot.

Jackson on ST's? really. He was back to return some kicks, which is Whiteheads job. Which McFadden can do also.

McFadden = protection of romo...Jackson [until he proves it] = Romo on IR....give me McFadden until proven otherwise. I do want Jackson to show something and make the team. But I am not sold on him yet.

Zeke's not getting suspended. That chick was crazy as a loon, and basically told the world her plan to "get even" with Zeke for breaking up with her. Apparently, those bruises were because she picked a fight in a bar with another girl he liked.

Why is Butler considered a lock at WR, say over Whitehead?

Butler seems to be one of those guys whose bark is bigger than his bite.

If Dak continues to play well I could easily see us keeping only 2 QB's with Showers going back to the PS

I love McFadden in college. He had a nice year last year but I still rather the young kid who's hungry behind this oline. Darren isn't the style rb we need w this offense.

Jackson can cover kickoffs and punts, block on kickoffs and punts, etc.

Elliott and Morris protect Romo. Don't need a third guy. Who was the third guy last year?

Jackson is an emergency RB that plays lots of special teams.

I agree but they're moving forward with the charges which we know a guilty verdict is not necessary for suspension .
