By the looks of extremeskins.com, Washington apparently has a better offense than us not just in one game but overall. This is not a joke, read some of the delusional masterpieces and you'll see homerism jump to levels unseen. You'll also notice that officials are seemingly out to get the team and that they must be blamed for everything.

If you wish to go deeper into the rabbit hole, note the countless posts stating that if Gates were to play and San Diego didn't commit stupid penalties then they would have won while the Skins would have blown the Bears away had penaties been called and this guy caught the ball and yadda, yadda, yadda.

It is also important to note that, theoritically, pigeons could fly out of my butt and sing Christmas carols to disadvantaged youth but I can't seem to find any feathers in my boxers.

Anywho, to confine the trash talking to one thread and not have new posts springing up, it would probably be ideal to keep it in one place. If you don't want to click on the link, you don't have to. That way, the site can still function as it normally does while addressing the needs of why the Skins suck and just why their fans seem to not be able to understand that we go through this every year and every year we win.

Godspeed gentlemen.

Yes, I barely ever go over there, but I did, and it was interesting to read some of the stuff posted there.

For the life of me, I don't see how a 9-7 defeat of last year's non-playoff Bears team lead by an rookie QB is a "dominating" performance. I also don't see how a 28-24 victory over a AFC West champion SD team in their house is a less impressive victory, and was one determined by penalties.

Penalties are never an excuse when they are legitimate, and both of the penalties that kept drives alive (Jammer's holding and Bledsoe's getting smacked in the head), were completely legitimate. The team still had to capitalize and it's not like they were in positions to score when they happened. They had to drive down the field and score.

If I were a Commander's fan, just looking at it from an objective perspective, I would be worried. The Cowboys are a team who have been built to beat the Eagles, and they competed and defeated a top AFC (which is the better conference of the two) team in their house learning a new defensive scheme with multiple rookies getting playing time. The Cowboys have defeated their team 13 straight times (I think). That alone is a confidence booster, and when they had the best chance to win last year, they still lost. Even if they are homers, I don't understand how some of them can be so biased.

Godspeed gentlemen.

I was switching over to the Skins - Bears games during commercials on DirectTV. I saw 2 plays that seemed like mistakes.

Ramsey got clothslines in a sack and was knocked out of the game. The defenders arm was almost around his neck/facemask area. This could have been a roughing call, I know a blow to the head is one and this was close.

The other was a Brunell deep pass that was intercepted by the Bears and returned to around the Skins 10-20 yard line. The refs called pass interference so it was a huge turnaround in the Skins favor where they had the call on Chicago's 20 yard line. I didn't see the pass interfearence on the call, it was close, but thats how it was called.

So, in my limitted veiwing of the game, I saw 2 calls...1 went their way, the other didn't go their way. The one that did go their way was a 70-80 yard difference and they gained possesion of the ball...Seemed like the advantage went to the Skins...

I didn't see all of the game so I cannot comment on the rest.

I know they were real mad after our 1 game with them last year. I read over their how that game was handed to them by the refs. Maybe they just have a lingering feeling still ?

justified ? Who knows...But I know how they feel. Kevin "Pup" Smith used to get calls all of the time against him that I felt not all were justified. Once you get a rep, the refs seem to watch you more closely...ala Mario Edwards too.

Of course we have to get a take about the up coming came from our favorite Commanders homer Art..................(yes folks the one only Art..........) :lmao:

Again, which offense will be ranked ahead of the other this week?

Which defense will be ranked ahead of the other this week?

Which team's special teams gave up several big negative plays?

Dallas won a nice game against a team that was good last year. But, WE DOMINATED a team that was bad last year, and kept them close. If we play the EXACT same way next week against Dallas and have no turnovers, we'll win. If not, we won't.
But Vegas quickly made the Cowboys a 6 point favorite :lmao2:

I have a great deal of respect for you Art, though your point is kind of misleading. You guys played the worst team in football. You should have won that game by three touchdowns. They started their second string running back and had a 2nd day draft pick behind center going into FedEx and you still had a tough time pulling it out.

We, on the other hand, went into San Diego, played against the best running back in the league and a Pro-Bowl quarterback and won the game. Despite all the times we shot ourselves in the foot. And that's with a young defense in a new scheme on the first day of the season.

You'll be facing a real offense next week...and what you do then will determine how your season will go. I know you guys have a strong defense and a strong running game...but Parcells will be prepared. He always is.

Mikal,

We should have beaten the Bears by three touchdowns. No doubt about it. We didn't because of our mistakes and that's what we are as a team. Your offense is better, though I fear your defense less, overall. In any case, you won a tough game where the other team made more mistakes and you guys got the benefit of a couple of close calls that helped continue scoring drives for you.

Obviously, if we turn the ball over three times again, we're done against you. If we don't, I think these matchups favor us in ways they haven't recently. You say you'll jam our small receivers. You will. I say we will use our quickness to beat you quickly off the line and create big plays. We will. How that balance plays out will determine what happens if the game is relatively clean otherwise.

I happen to like Williams against Bledsoe in a matchup. I have no doubt Parcells will be prepared. He's the type of coach who gives Gibbs fits. I just don't think if we limit turnovers that the game will go against us. And if we don't, it will.

That was great. Any team that has turn-overs limits their chance to win duh :laugh2:

I hope our defense has something to do with their mistakes /sarcasm off ;)

The problem is not the team itself; it's the delusional fans who will skew ANY argument by picking and choosing what they wish to harp on.

Example: the Skins have a better offense because they had more yards. Fine. But what if we to say that we have a better offense because we averaged more per play? Will, not it's not admissible because it doesn't matter.

...

Now you see how it works. It's constant backtracking and ignoring facts. It's about blaming everyone but the players for their problems. It's about saying that Patrick Crayton wouldn't even had made their roster (actual post).

And I really do feel that most Commanders fans are much saner. The problem is that a few posters over there rule with an iron clad fist and can't be reasoned with. They're the same fans that, if I made a bulletproof argument based on factual information, will argue that I'm an idiot because I ended my last sentence with a preposition which immediately means I'm a 'pwned ******'.

Whatever, doesn't matter. We've been through this before and we'll go through it again.

Agreed.

They had 22 more total yards on Offense lol.

They are ranked higher at NFL.Com and that seems to be why.

However they have a 4.8 yards per play average while we had a 4.9

They got those 22 more yards of total offense because they had 7 more plays on offense.

On third downs they had a 37.5% we had 63.6%

They had 5 (Offensive) penalties for 45 yards....we had 8 for 46 yards.

They scored a total of.... 9 points all FGs.

We scored a total of....28 with 4 TDs.

Oops sorry here is another area they beat us in...

Time of Pos...They had 34:15 and we had 31:09.

So we have the higher scoring offense this first week.

We have the higher Passing offense this first week.

We have the higher Rec offense this first week.

They have the higher Rushing total this first week.

We had the higher Punting average this first week.

We had the higher Kick-Off average this first week.

They had the higher Kick/Punt return average this first week (we are directly below them in this area.

They have the higher FG totals for this first week...but that does not bother me if we are scoring TDs instead of FGs.

So they held on to the ball around 4 minutes more then we did and gained around 20 more yards then us on more plays.

OMG!!

The funniest thing is watching the Skins fans go absolutely bananas after they once again fail to live up to the unrealistic expectation of fans who are clearly not thinking at all much less trying to be logical or make sense.

The Boys, Chargers, Skins and Bears ALL made mistakes yesterday. That tends to happen on week 1 of the season. The difference is pretty simple. 2 of those teams could make mistakes and still perform at a playoff level and 2 others couldn't.

The Cowboy and Giants both shocked their critics and came out strong. I expect the Eagle will put up a good show tonight too. Meanwhile, the Skins struggled to barely beat a team with an awful record last year, starting a QB in his first-ever NFL game, and the list goes on.....

It is a delight that nothing that is said on ES (or here for that matter) makes an iota of difference in the outcome of the game. While Art may be the master of spin, he has still had to eat his heart out after all but one Dallas-Washington game for the last, what, seven(?) seasons.

So, let me get this straight...

Washington squeaked out a blistering 9-7 victory over the Bears where the game wasn't decided until a late 4th quarter fumble and it's dominating?

I invite Art to read the game thread on ES for that game and then somehow try and tell me that they dominated it.

I'm dizzy...

That is exactly what I was wondering. Art acts like they shut down the colts offense. Shutting down the bears offense is like saying that a hooker is easy. They don't realize it but we are going to create a lot of mismatches in the passing game. WE have 5 threats in the passing game no including JJ and they have only two people who can cover.

The ES homers say they beat themselves, I think the bears are the ones who beat themselves.

Interesting. You pick and choose a few select posts from a thread titled "Dallas is gonna spank us!" to celebrate the notion that we are a bunch of homers?

Gimme a break.

What the Foreskins fail to realize is that they barely beat a team starting a 4th round pick at QB. Chicago could have easily beat them. The are a 6 win team at best. Plain and simple, they are just not that good.
