but things have not been the same with him since the touchdown/drop/lateral/interception play vs. the Packers.

At that point, he was smoking the Packers with one of his best days of his career.

After that drop, I don't recall if he even had another catch in that game.

Then the two worst games of the season for him occurred back to back.

Seems like he was doing well with the drops up to that point in the season. Now, he's reverting back to his ways last year.

I think the current problems stem from Detroit triple teaming him and Romo's bad day against the Eagles, both you guys are way off base here.

Maybe he would have more impact if we threw him the ball...

The Detroit game was just one of those games, he was triple teamed almost every play and Romo threw practically every pass to Witten. The Eagles game we had an injured QB who was throwing off target, Owens caught the ball twice for a 20 yard average - just didn't get the ball coming his way enough.

YOu must not have watched the last two games.

Vs the Eagles, we threw to him TOO much. Should have thrown more to Witten.

I watched it very closely, we forced the ball to him a few times. he was also open a good few times and the ball didn't go his way, Romo's throwing was off because of the injury and that's why the catches weren't there. he was open a good few times and Romo just threw the ball off target - nothing a reciever can do about that.

1st quarter he got wide open and was over-thrown, if that ball was on target that would have been a TD and in the 4th quarter he was over-thrown to the right side of the field which would have been another big gain.

1. Romo's throwing was off before he got hurt.

2. Just cuz TO was open doesn't mean he was the primary target on the play. If the primary target was someone else and was open, the ball should go to that person.

3. TO could have had 1 more catch and a BIG play if he catches that slant over the middle. You can't complain about not getting the ball if you're gonna drop them when they come to you.

4. You mention the play in the first quarter.... yeah, that was before Romo got hurt.

5. In you previous post you said "Maybe he would have more impact if we threw him the ball", then in your next post you say " we forced the ball to him a few times". Nice contradiction.

I'm not trying to get your riled (sp?) up or anything. Just saying "getting him the ball" wasn't the problem the last two games. Sometimes the other team does a good job too (Detroit) and sometimes the guy throwing the ball just has an off day (Philly), but the cowboys attempting to get him the ball wasn't the problem.

I'm not riled, I have no reason to be. It's not that he's not been the same since the Greenbay game, it's that the ball hasn't been in his hands as much.

I never contradicted myself at all, throwing someone the ball and getting someone the ball are two very different things, I said he's not getting it enough (good pass, good catch) - not that he's not being looked to enough. Two over-thrown passes were the only thing in the way of another 100 yard game.

he dropped the ball on the slant, that was a bad play, that would have resulted in 10-15 yards but the over-throws were bigger plays and there is nothing a reciever can do about them.

Contrary to what a cocky Andy Reid said in his Post Game PC, the Eagles as well as the Lions focused on Terrell Owens, even though the Lions made more of an effort of taking him out of the game.

Also, Tony Romo was off the entire game and missed Terrell Owens on a couple of throws.

The Eagles did not shut Terrell Owens down, Tony Romo had an off night and his accuracy was horrible.

As I stated before, Tony Romo probably injured his thumb on the same play Gurode got hurt, which was in the 3rd Quarter and we all know he was playing horrible before that as well.

There was two plays where Owens had burned his defender. If Romo had thrown a better pass, those could have been scores. Owens, IMO did a good job of trying to get open. He had one obvious drop but, passes were just off. Even Jerry Rice couldn't catch'em all
